Dixie has been making stupid, undisciplined penalties since at least the Spritzky era. That’s my logic.

That's been a while lol.

Just a thought, but in watching that video above, it looks like they kick an extra point right before, then just turn around and run punt.  The kid is punting it from the back line of the end zone.  S

So you suggest playing a zone? What about more pressure by DL to shorten coverage time? I think the Cooper QB and Alexander and Johnson are just really talented players that most teams may struggle with covering.

Has to be a mix of man and zone. Cooper did a nice job getting the ball out quick. Definitely talented players. Also very rare to face an offense that throws it 50 plus times a game and runs it under 5 times.

I said it back in June. 47-39 Dixie.

I like Dixie in 5A. I think they win the district this season with an 8-2, 7-3 record.

It will be interesting to see if Dixie can get revenge from last year, when Highlands blew them out, including an onside kick up 42-7 and in total control of the game. I think it will be a battle, but I don't think Dixie throws the ball as well as Cooper does. That being said, they have a top duel threat QB who loves to lower his shoulder and punish defenders.

Speaking of duel threat QBs, Highlands has an absolute stud with Benke running the show. I look forward to the first time he and Brach Rice meet. I think the first team to 35 points wins this 5A matchup.

Highlands wins. I think it'll be a game, but Highlands will outplay Dixie offensively, and be able to hang with them enough defensively.

Do you think the man only has been working? Friday night’s defensive showing was a total embarrassment! It was pathetic.

Will this game be streamed?  Looks like a good one!

This will be an absolute head knocker. Turnovers and composure will be keys. Neither team winning would surprise me, especially with the game at Dixie. If it’s not close, it’s a bluebird kind of night. I can only see Dixie winning by the narrowest of margins. The Red Colonels have had 3 weeks to prepare essentially and should unveil some new wrinkles. Edgewood is the place to be Friday night (Rice Mountjoy, not St E). Good luck to both teams.

I just want to know what Dixie will do in pregame after Highlands punts the ball 20 yards into their pregame routine and all players chase the ball down?

What are they supposed to do?

Has this happened before? When?

Send a trainer or a coach to get the ball if the folks on the other side of the field don't toss it back.

Sending players from an opposing team into the other team's pre-game practice is a boneheaded move if I've ever heard one.

I've been to hundreds of varsity games (my short playing career included), and I guess I don't pay that much attention to pre-game warm ups. Don't both teams just line up on their own 40's and all the action goes towards the goal line? Is this just a Highlands thing?
