Anybody know what Finneytown's record was prior to Brossart compared to where they have been during his stint?

 

Did he grow up a NKY guy, or have any kind of roots here?

Just to pile on, I was told this morning that all signs are pointing to Dave Brossart being the choice.

 

Interesting....I hear nothing but good things about him and am excited to have him if he is in fact that man.

My son had Brossart as a teacher (Algebra II) when he was a soph at CCH. He really liked him and I think he is a very good teacher.

Dave Brossart is a graduate of Beechwood and did a great job at Finneytown. He is the kind of coach you would want your son to play for! Cov Cath is very fortunate to get a man of his character!

Sounds like CovCath will be getting a good coach and fine person. Congrats. Although I have to admit, if this pans out, I'm a little surprised. I thought for sure they hire a CovCath grad this time if for no other reason than they would want someone not likely to leave if another higher paying job opened up. I realize that Coach Brossart taught at CovCath, but that's a lot different than being a CovCath grad from a loyalty perspective. However, I'm sure the selection committee did the best they could to get a long term committment from him and probably considered the fact that Beechwood's coach is not likely to be leaving for a while. Again congrats. Wonder if the new coach will refer to us as Highlands or that team from Ft. Thomas (which I always thought was a tad bit childish:banana:)

What is he compared to Rodenberg?? How is his ffense and conditioning differ?

At Finneytown, Brossart ran the run and shoot with a hint of the spread installed and a 3-3-5 defense.

Dave Brossart is very mature and full of class; I would not expect a silly comment like that from him; he also will not demean the players when they make a mistake; I understand discipline is a must, but there is a way to do without being personal and demeaning.

 

The only question mark about Brossart is that he is very young and has not been a head coach for very long; I know he has two pretty good mentors in Mike Yeagle and Bernie Barre; I think they'll be able to offer advice if it is needed.

Beechwood ran a version of this when he was at Beechwood; Brossart also played at Georgetown, who runs this offense (I think they still do).

If, in fact, Dave Brossart is named new coach, CovCath is very fortunate. He is a great young man, don't know about his coaching abilities but I do know he is one heck of a human being and I wish him all the luck in the world except for that one Sat home game and may the best team win!!

I for one thought Wolfe was going to get the job. He is a great coach, and an even better guy, and he has been doing all of the right things the last couple of weeks up at CCH, you know, handshakes and kissing babies.

Early last week, I was told that Wolfe hadn't even applied and this person would know whether he did or not. A earlier poster asked the same question. If Wolfe didn't apply then who did? I guess I can let everyone know tomorrow after the "Help your neighbor pick up their tree branches" Walk tonight in Ft. Thomas. There will be a lot of buzz around town with people speculating which candidate gets the job. I'm like LN, can't believe they went outside the program again. What's that saying "Fool CCH once shame on you, Fool CCH twice shame on us! Hope it works out for the best!
