Uh oh, Boom is on to something. :sssh:

I love it - the first female football coach !!??

It sucks that he left. BUT I will say he left it in BETTER shape than when he entered the program. I think that is all you can ask from someone. I dont know if Roger Bacon is "better", but maybe the personal situation with family is "better".

I wholeheartedly disagree with the concept of leaving it in better shape. The program was in great shape already. No, they did not get past Highlands in 04 but no one did. It was in strong shape. Its in strong shape. It will stay in strong shape no matter who is hired.

^ you beat me to it.

I think that is a bold satement Cov. Cath was a big time job when he got it because of what Lynn Ray and the players before him built.

Cov. Cath. will be fine they don't rebuild they reload. The program was in good shape when he got there and it is in good shape when he left, but I wouldn't say better.

Some of you people get so EASILY offended when you shouldn't. If anything, my comment is positive. This is just like all the Yeagle Fans out there that get all wired up. Lynne Ray did a fantastic job of creating and maintaining a great football program. I have nothing bad to say about him. There are people out there (maybe on this message board, maybe not) who were fond of him, but glad he was stepping down - because maybe the school was in need of a change. So rodeburg steps in and takes Lynne's program and got a few more kids interested and wins a state championship. I believe he had 120 + kids in the total football program - compared to around 90-100 before he came in. That is better than when he entered it. This is not knocking covcath or any coach. They beat Highlands 2 out of the last 18 times according to this message board - prior to 2 wins this season. Is that NOT better!?!?!? Once again, Lynne Ray is a hall of famer rodenburg is not yet). I dont know him, but i respect EVERYTHING he accomplished.

YOU people? What do you mean YOU people!?!?!?! :fire:

How about this question?

Whose challenge is tougher?

1. Rodenburg - when he accepted the job 2 yrs ago?

2. The next coach - who has to live up to last year's team who won state while losing most of the starting lineup?

Just fans and supporters of schools or coaches who misinterpret comments. Mine are appropriate and not offensive. It was a couple of threads ago when a "Yeagle Supporter" was going to take us all to court !!

No doubt about it. Next year's coach will have the tougher challenge due to inexperience, not a deep SR-to-be class as the previous 3 have been, and a very tough schedule. IMO the fact that he's following a state championship team is not a factor.

^ you beat me to it again.I will just let you post my thoughts.

The next Caoch because there are so few starters coming back, Rodenberg recieved a very talented group of athletes, I am sure there is Talent at Cov. Cath but I am not sure they will be as talented as Bleser, Bovard, The sutton brothers, Brown, Castenada, Ellison, the Buckley's, and on and on.

Thanks guys for the good conversation.

How did their jv teams and frosh teams do last season.

JV did very well. Frosh did OK - not great.

The JV was carried by a good junior class, correct or not???? (I don't know.)

Didn't the freshmen get beat 55-0 by Highlands?

If these are true, which I don't know for sure, then I would disagree that the program is in better shape.

Someone please clarify.

JV did have a fair amount of juniors get action due to a strong SR class.

FROSH had a down year by recent CCH standards. It may be 3 years in a row now that HHS has "handled" the FROSH.
