Pretty strong comment. People need to realize how their words & actions can hurt them down the road. Rubbing a player, parent, teacher, or administrator the wrong way WILL be remembered.

 

This job has been on the down low for the few weeks it has been open. Have interviews began?

 

Interviews are supposed to begin this week and the final decision should be announced on February 15th.

A lot has changed since then, IMO. I think their problem was mostly with Coach Ray & offensive coordinator Coach Hobbs. I'd imagine Coach Ray will still have SOME input on the decision, but obviously he did not have the final say in hiring Rodenberg, so I don't think he would be able to stop Nate or Barry from coming back.

 

I think the majority of Covington Catholic alumni would be happy with Nate being hired as the new head coach. The only problem is he does not have any HC experience.

Your comment about the MAJORITY of Cov Cath alumni not having a problem is way off base. I am sure there are those who are for it but there many many who are definately against it.

Are you serious about interviews!!! You mean CCH doesn't have there guy yet. Certainly they pretty much knew who they wanted when Coach R jump ship. I find it hard to believe that the powers to be haven't allready made their decision.

What's to interview, what kind of questions do you ask. Do you promise to do everything in your power to help us beat The Team On The Highlands and not jump ship after two years for another school!!! I don't get it, Yes a private school with a not so great retirement according to most people but were talking about a school with some pretty impressive backers.

I must admit that I'm amazed at how people think of this type of job in the same terms as if it were a college job. There are no "impressive backers" who are going to supplement the next coach's pay.

They have their man, it is a done deal and it will come out when the time is right, when they feel like it. Trust me, nothing will leak out before the announcement. Cov Cath is a class organization and letting things like this leak so on-line chat rooms can talk about it will not happen. Everyone take a deep breath, relax and when it comes out it will be discussed.
