We had a problem with refs not making a holding call late two weeks ago, now we have a problem with the call being made. We gotta sort ourselves out.

The eagles put the ball on the ground and gave 7 away. They blew a 10 point lead at the half. They benefitted from a missed field goal from KC. They also gave up a huge punt return that set the chiefs up for a TD. Championship teams don’t do those things.

Looks like I'm in the minority. When I was watching the play I said that's holding before the ref even threw the flag. And I saw missed calls that went against the Chiefs also. There was a holding play by the Eagles similar to the one on the last play against Juju Schuster earlier in the game that wasn't called.

I will add that Andy Reid is an offensive genius. His play design won that game for the Chiefs.

I'm not arguing if it was a correct call or not, I'm just saying that exact same thing happens every play. Yet, it isn't called every play.

This game was similar to last year’s Super Bowl in that the officials largely stayed out of the way till the very end. But when it’s close at the end, the NFL can produce exactly the outcome they want. The only chance the Eagles had was to blow out KC so it wasn’t close at the end like Tampa Bay did a couple years ago.  Looked like they were on the way to doing that, but their defense collapsed in the second half.

None of us can prove that the NFL is rigged, but when the beneficiaries of the biggest bad calls are in the most TV commercials, and when every other advertisement is for a gambling website, suspicions will arise. A lot has changed since Alex Karras and Paul Hornung were suspended for a whole season in the prime of their careers for gambling. Of course that was 60 years ago. Has MLB embraced gambling yet? Asking for my buddy Pete Rose.

The idea that “gambling” influences outcomes is just not true. The Gambling industry doesn’t make money on a preferred team winning. The casinos and sports books make money on the vig, and as long as they’ve done their jobs well and get close to even money bet on both teams, and get action on prop bets/parlays, they make money regardless of who wins or loses.

And yes, you can bet just as money on MLB games, or whatever sport you want.

Even the guy who held admitted it. He just hoped it wouldn’t be called.

Exactly. Conspiracy theories are for losers.

His admission is part of the script. Brilliant writing.

Was it holding? Yes. Were they calling that really at all in the game? No. Which to me is the biggest issue. As you referenced, there was an even more obvious one that directly effected the play earlier that was also to Juju and it wasn’t called. If they were calling that type of stuff all game, then absolutely you throw that flag. To me though they weren’t really calling small holds like that all game, but yet decided to throw it there. Similar to last years Super Bowl, where the refs basically were letting them play and not calling small holds. Yet they called the small one on Logan Wilson on third down.

Just be consistent throughout IMO. If you are calling it tight all game, then call it tight at the end. If you are basically letting them play all game, then let them play at the end too.

Correct call, yes. A call they were basically letting go all game? Also yes.

Kelce was a real turd in the post-game interview.

I can only imagine. That's just who he is.

Love how the Bengal players are taking issue with the hold, but Bradberry owned up to it. Also love that this image is them at the goal line, and the hold took place on the 15.

And yes, I agree it was a weakish call. But what bothers me about it is that it did not lose the game for Philadelphia. KC was going to take the lead with a FG, penalty or not. But it did deny Philly an opportunity. People are acting like it was a given Philly would win had that not been called.
