Not sure what my thoughts are yet about Queen.

He’s only played 8th grade ball and is considered SEC caliber? Parents definitely hired the QB social media squad so some of the “rankings” are paid for.

Will he start at Elder as a Frosh?

I have been following Bluegrass preps since my oldest was in high school. I comment here and there but to be honest I have never witnessed any adults talking about a kids faith.  I'm Chasity Harney.

  • @Cov_Cath_Hwy put it perfectly.  It is more than just a football team, basketball team, soccer etc.  It is a brotherhood there.  As new classes come in and senior classes depart, that brotherhood migh

A couple things, let’s pump the brakes on this KID. Not because he isn’t talented, but because he is a KID. There are 100 different reasons someone may not pan out or live up to their potential.

A LOT can happen in 4 years, and it is not fair to him, nor the actual players on the roster at CovCath to talk about a KID like this.

I hope he does well, stays healthy, stays out of trouble, gets good grades, and all the pieces fall correctly for him to have a impactful career at Elder, and if he is lucky, to go play at the next level.

Next thing we are going to be talking about is the #1 4th grader in the country, “baby gronk.”

100% they missed out on a huge talent. Dad played at OSU, I know OSU already thinks highly of him as he camped there as well. And any site you can find that ranks them that young has him in the top 5 quarterback rankings for the nation. Took the middle schools colonels and won the GCL last year. Don’t think he is overhyped at all, and would have been awesome to have this type of talent play in NKY regardless of school.

Anyone hyped at that age, is by default, overhyped.

Can’t say I agree with overrated considering a staff that just watched the 33rd pick in the draft for 3 years and a player that had a 35-5 TD to INT ratio in the ACC for 15 practices in the spring offered him, thinking he can be on that level in a few years. The rankings? Sure, I think anything before after the soph season is over in HS is dumb, but offers say a lot.

It’s obviously a huge miss for CCH. I say that and still think both soph QBs will be really good and would win a ton of games as Jrs/Srs as the starter.

6'1 180 pounds as a 8th grader should be a good one.

Probably needs to get to 6'3", maybe 6'4", to keep the scholarship offers rolling.

Evan Pitzer picked up an NAIA offer from a school near St. Louis, Culver Stockton College.

I saw online he was at a mega camp out in Missouri a bit ago.

Great job Evan and know there will be more coming!

Cov Cath is having the playing surface replaced over the summer. From the looks of things, they're opting away from the alternating dark green/light green stripes.

Bummer. I thought that looked sharp. It gave the field a little extra "pop".

(The above players are all 2024s, not 23s, so they all still have their Senior seasons left.)

Saw on FB that they've renamed the field from Wooten Field at Griffin Stadium to Arts Rental Field at Griffin Stadium. I guess that means Mr. Rowe has moved on from the Griffin/Drees/Zembrodt families and hitched his donation wagon to the Arlinghauses until he wrings them dry, LOL. Is the field going to get renamed every time they replace the turf?

This must be an official note to the Wooten family and CCH donors that if you don't keep donating they'll rename that stuff right out from under you, LOL. If that's the case I guess it's not gonna be Jerry Collins Baseball field for much longer. And watch out Yung family, that tennis center will get renamed in a heartbeat if you don't keep the greenbacks flowing.

Art's Rental Field: Unveiling a New Era of Excellence at Covington Catholic High School

The construction crew from The Motz Group is ready to roll out, and soon Colonels will be storming the new field at Covington Catholic High School’s Art’s Rental Field at Dennis Griffin Stadium.  Thanks to the generous support from Art's Rental, the field has undergone a transformation with the installation of state-of-the-art turf, which will now bear their name. Dale Arlinghaus, of Art's Rental, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “My brothers and I are big supporters of Covington Catholic. We believe strongly in their mission of developing young men spiritually, academically, athletically, and socially. We feel fortunate to be able to help with the new field.”

The decision to replace the turf was driven by the school's unwavering commitment to performance and safety. Covington Catholic has gone the extra mile by investing in a cutting-edge shock pad, designed to enhance player safety. Tony Bacigalupo, the CCH Athletic Director, stressed the school's dedication to safeguarding its athletes, saying, “Safety continues to be our number one priority at CovCath, especially in athletics.  Thanks to additional financial support from The CCH Boosters, the extra padding was an easy decision.”

The initiative to replace 87,850 sq ft of turf was not only a necessity but also an opportunity to promote sustainability. In alignment with the CCH Green Ambassadors Club, Covington Catholic worked together with The Green Waste Initiative to ensure an eco-friendly outcome. As a result, the entire previous field was recycled into new products, eliminating any waste sent to landfills.

The field and stadium have served as witnesses to countless memorable moments throughout the years, from the impassioned Colonel Crazies to the triumphant victories and regional titles of the home team. The unwavering support of numerous individuals has played a vital role in the construction and improvement of the stadium. Covington Catholic's journey commenced on September 2nd, 1978, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the CCH Score Committee. During those formative years, Saturday afternoons were reserved for home games since the stadium lacked lighting. In 2009, Tom and Stephen Schutzman constructed the grotto devoted to Mary. More recently, the stadium underwent significant upgrades in 2017, thanks to the lead gifts from the Griffin and Wulfeck families. These enhancements included the construction of new stands, a press box, LED lights and an impressive entrance, further elevating the stadium's appeal and functionality.

Principal Bob Rowe expressed his excitement for the enhancements while acknowledging the school's roots, stating, “We eagerly anticipate the progress and triumphs that will unfold on Art's Rental Field, but we will always honor our history and the individuals who contributed to our journey.” In recognition of the field's original name, Wooten Field, a commemorative plaque will be prominently displayed within the stadium to honor the Wooten family, supporters, and The Score Committee.

As construction draws to a close, we extend our heartfelt gratitude all those who have supported Covington Catholic along the way. Bacigalupo emphasized the pivotal role of the Arlinghaus family and Art's Rental, stating, “On behalf of everyone at CovCath, we are immensely grateful for their unwavering support. From bringing in temporary lights to their sponsorship of this field, they have played an instrumental role in our athletic program.”
The installation by The Motz Group will be completed in the coming days and soon after the dead period, players will take to the field. To mark this momentous occasion, Covington Catholic will dedicate the field during the first home football game on August 18th, where they will kick off against Ryle.

Covington Catholic High School is a 2016 Blue Ribbon of Excellence award winning college preparatory high school located in Park Hills, Kentucky, and operates within the Catholic Diocese of Covington.  It is an all-male school of 472 whose mission is to embrace the Gospel message of Jesus Christ in order to educate students spiritually, academically, physically and socially.

Nature of the beast. Something tells me we’ll see something with Mayer in the name here soon…
