Just saw a video of this dude talking about how he didn't lie because he technically did die on the field. Clearly not what he meant in his incorrect posts that he's since deleted. 

Also doubles down on him having "died" a second time and being resuscitated again, which the family directly refuted and said the Uncle was incorrect about.

All of these permutations make me wonder if this is why the Chiefs/Raiders game was scheduled for the early game on Saturday. A Chiefs victory really limits the effect of a Bills/Bengals makeup game, whereas a Chiefs loss would open a lot more doors for both Buffalo and Cincinnati.

You're kind of on point. The Chiefs/Raiders game was scheduled before the NFL knew they would be in this mess though, but it was done because it would impact the time for the Bengals/Ravens game. 

Twitter says that this is headed toward a "no contest" decision and the game won't be played. I wonder how that works with tickets. I know some paid BIG money on the secondary market.

I found the video to be brutal with its honesty.  The reduction the disability from $22K / month to $4K / month was biggest thing that I took note of. 

With the increasing revenue that the longer (and more dangerous) seasons are generating it seems the players are not getting any benefit - especially in this area where the longer season increases risks of career ending injury or worse as the players are more banged up and wore out. 

How the PA let that happen is beyond words. 

 

 

I noted the announcement today reference lungs healing.  That seemed a bit odd.  I know intubation has risks but are they saying they damaged his lungs with the process?

I think it is some combination of veteran players (present and past) looking out for themselves and corrupt behind the scenes wheeling and dealing between those vets and the NFL where they sacrifice younger players and treat them as expendable pawns.

I personally think with as much money as the NFL, Owners and PA make they should do like college players do and take out a big disability policy that would cover players for anywhere from 10-15 years if they become permanently disabled  due to playing football that would give them some financial stability. 

As I've noted before, the NFLPA has consistently been taken to the woodshed and regarded as the worst union in pro sports. But DeMaurice Smith gave players the go-ahead to tweet mean things about the Commissioner, so that makes them all feel good.
