I suppose so, which is ridiculous when IMO all Clevenger was asking for was the resources needed to make the Ads a contender.  When he was fired other coaches wanted those resources too and when they were told no, that's why Danville had to go to someone further down their list.  That should've sent a clear signal to administration but they seem to have learned nothing.

What could be REALLY funny about this whole deal is that Clevenger might still be teaching there.  And Peach might be there too if he doesn't take another job.  So you will have this new guy coming in with TWO good coaches just sitting around and doing other things.  Almost like in college when a school fires a coach and then has to pay buyouts of people who came before.

I'll wait until there's an official announcement but I can't say I'm happy with what I'm hearing about how this hiring timeline is going.  It's like those in charge don't respect the tradition of the program and what it has meant to so many people.

I wish Clay Clevenger would apply for the Somerset job and get it. I would love to see him beat Danville every year and put them out in the playoffs, just like I loved seeing Boyle County Baseball beat Danville twice last year and Sage Dawson winning MVP.

It appears that the super (who isn't from Danville) has delegated the hiring to the high school admins.  The hs principal lives in Lexington, the asst principal lives in Richmond.    They don't respect the tradition of the program and what it means to the community bc they don't understand it and have never been a part of it.  Community members have reached out and admins don't even acknowledge receipt of communications sent to them.  There is no transparency in the process.  There is no professionalism in the process.  To say people are upset is an understatement.  It's hard for Danville loyalists to watch outsiders destroy the program they are so proud of.

IMO this has crippled the Danville schools since Bob Rowland retired more than a decade ago (and if you wanted an example of a leader who valued athletics and extracurriculars and what they meant for academics you couldn't find someone better).  They keep bringing in leadership from big cities with no ties to the community and all it has gradually eroded what it took decades to build.  As a resident, I'm just sad to see how Boyle has been running circles around Danville academically and athletically for the last 15 years.  The gap between the 2 systems just keeps getting wider and it calls into question whether Danville should remain independent.

Get better is the solution, not closing up shop. Independent schools offer a different experience and more opportunities for students.

No.  There is an interim AD and the principal is new.

Bob Rowland was elite. Wonderful man and excellent Superintendent. Best of the best. 

Sounding like Parks is the frontrunner at Danville. Wonder if this will satisfy the masses or will there be transfers to their crosstown rival?

if that’s the case everyone will be looking to add Danville to their schedule. 

What makes Parks the guy for this job other than being buddies with the principal? 

What is his record as a HFC? Has he won a playoff game as a HFC?
