Has the cost of tickets thru Ticketmaster for the Sweet 16 Tournament, with all their additional fees, exceeded the price point many are willing to spend on HS basketball tickets for Rupp Arena? Why can't there be a special price point for schools and students? Would there be increased attendance if the tournament was played elsewhere?

 

 

 

While the costs associated with playing at Rupp likely keep some away, I’m sure there are many folks who go solely because it IS at Rupp. It probably evens out.

NFHS is the way to go. $11 for a month and you can see every tournament game.

What actually was the cost of tickets, as I was quoted different prices by different ticket agents?  I ended up buying the complete set which seems to be the best price.

I think they were 27$ After fees for lower arena if you didn’t get them from second hand seller.

They were 22.00 for Students  14.00 with 8.00 upcharge by Ticketmaster  At that Price attendance will be way down for Most Kids and stay down for a Long time.

For 2 tickets on the lower arena for the 2 semifinals was $57 and another $57 for 2 tickets to the championship game. The Ticketmaster fees are crazy high.

I agree, that is far too much money for a high school event. 

I firmly believe the days of huge crowds are over regardless of venue. It’s just a different world. And whoever came up with the tip off times for the second games of sessions and handling of the cheering sections needs to reevaluate for next year.
Oh yeah, been saying for years Ticketmaster is the devil. 

You can’t play at Rupp (or likely any large venue) without Ticketmaster.

Who can compete with Ticketmaster? An $8 upcharge is scandalous.

I'd expect to pay a little more to attend the best High School basketball tournament in the country.?

$16 per session adults

$12 per session students

$20 per session PREMIUM tickets

All 3 tickets INCLUDE PARKING.

Could you buy them at Rupp this year?
