Ruggles and Fite were very, very good from what I have heard. They are both great coaches for the girls basketball team at LCHS as well. :thumb:

Ruggles and Fite were both very tough and very competitive. Jack Applegate would be my number 2 pick for Tollesboro but didn't play much because of bad knees and had several operations. He was as tough as they came.

Newport Central Catholic:

Ronnie Dawn

Pangalo - there were so many... I remember Nick- jimmy was the best

John Brannen

The other Brannen - not even close!!!!!

Dave Cowens

Batsche? Foster?

Who from Newport? Commodore? Greene? Mills?

What year was Peters?

I'm thinking 81?

Who from Newport? Commodore? Greene? Mills?

Would Ethan Snapp be worthy of the list? Just curious

I never got to watch Mike Fessler play (he was in '62), but he put up 50 points against Dixie Heights and had the highest scoring average for an individual season with 25.4. It's difficult to leave a guy like that off the list.

Other than that, I'd take Corey Grace ('97?). He was a beast and ended up playing for Thomas More. He went down to Kentucky to attempt to walk-on, but they told him that there were no more spots on the roster. Somebody by the name of Saul Smith took the last one.

It's difficult to leave Andy & Kevin Listerman off the list, but I think there are much more talented players. I'd probably take Nestheide ('04) & Purdon ('01)over them, but that's just my opinion.

Also, Dan Tieman deserves a spot. Anybody who plays behind the Big O has a legit reason for riding the pine. :D

So that leaves me with this:

Dick Maile

Roger Tieman

Randy Noll

Joe Voskuhl

Joe Fritz

Corey Grace

Matt Nestheide

Steve Purdon

Dan Tieman

Andy Listerman

For sure, Nick Ruthsatz joins this squad. Jake Thelen too?

Hopefully, some day CVH.

Thread is a blast from the past! Would think Ruthsatz and Thelen would start showing up on some CovCath lists?

Does Jake Giesler from NewCath deserve some consideration? He put up a lot of points and rebounds in his time there?

For Brossart do Jake Rieger and Alex Trentman deserve some consideration?

Don't recall seeing lists from schools like Scott & Dixie. Dixie has a long basketball tradition and a recent star in Hatton. Hard to imagine a list without him being in the starting five.

And as my dad has told me for years you can't discuss All Time Holmes players without Bob Barton!!

Walton-Verona 1980,s

Andy Burns

Scott Benton

Kallen Cheeseman

Kevin Martin

Johnny Anderson

Kyle Bennett

Corbin's would look something like this:

Four of the five played in the NBA and the other in the NFL, and on the UK freshman team before concentrating on football.

Frank Selvey

Jerry Smith

Jerry Bird

Calvin Bird

Marion Cluggish

A team from the last 25 years or so:

Tony Pietrowski

Rick Jones

Josh Crawford

Bo Roaden

Isaac Wilson

How about

Dave Cowens - Florida State and NBA

John Brannen - Morehead and Pro in Europe

Ronnie Dawn - Marshall

Tom Freppon Sr - Xavier

Carl Foster - School's leading scorer for 30 years+

John Wehage

Rick Batsche

Dave Faust

Jimmy and Nicky Pangallo

A Sandfoss or two

and a couple of Krebs

Fun thread, glad to see it come back around. I would update as suggested by Mexi to add McDonald. I have him bumping his grandfather out of the lineup.

I heard the same stories about Barton.

Not sure if I have posted on this thread or not regarding Conner.
