Admittedly I don't follow CC's program closely. Best player i can recall would be Kevin Reinhardt. 2001 or 2002 grad.

Glad we are revisiting this thread!

Some teams would definitely change over the past 6-7 years. For instance:

adding Brent Bach to Augusta

adding Austin Crawford to Bracken

adding Mason Monroe to Pendleton

B/c of his all around game, Drew McDonald for NewCath has to be in there as their starting 4.

Ron Peters

F-Frank Gifford

G-Steve Gifford

F/C-Lee "LEEBO" Gifford

G-Danny Jett

The Collins twins Ronnie and Donnie have to be on here somewhere...... Played back in the late 80's

wasn't a bad softball player either.

On that note I would add some current players from Augusta like Maddox, Snapp.

Bracken Co i would consider Stacy Florer, Eddie Day, and Todd Jefferson right off the top of my head.

Lewis County

PG- Terrence Smith ('11)

SG- Ralphie Davis Jr. (Backcourt mate of the Big O at UC and in the NBA, attended Vanceburg High School though) ('53?)

SF- Tyler Clark ('04)

PF- Jim Bloomfield (school's all-time leading scorer) ('78?)

C- Billy Howell (6'10") ('95?)

That's just a stab at it. I'm sure some of the older LC fans could put one together a little bit better but that's what I came up with.

Osborne could play a little but he was too much of a hot dog to suit me.

I've watched Tollesboro from the late 40's until they closed. My pick would be Chris Harrison , Al Bane, Marty Voiers, Bob Bane and Mike Thoroughman and Dewy Bryant.

For Lewis Co , Jim Bloomfield, Harold Billman, Eddie Scott, Ralph Davis and Tracy Shunway and Johnny Lykins.

Just my opinion.

Lewis Co High School:

Jim Bloomfield

Ralphie Davis

Eddie Scott

Tracy Shunway

Howard Shumate:dancingpa

Wonder how old Shunway and Schumate are... Never heard of them and don't see them in the 1000 point club the school posts online. I was very close to putting Eddie Scott in my top 5 but wasn't exactly sure what position he played.

If Tollesboro and Lewis County were consolidated from the start there would have been some great teams in Vanceburg back in the day.

Other than Harrison, I didn't see the others play. Kirk Ruggles and Jay Fite come to mind.

Ruggles and Fite were very, very good from what I have heard. They are both great coaches for the girls basketball team at LCHS as well. :thumb:
