I’m not saying Conner has 0 chance of advancing past 3rd round, for all we know, CovCath could also get running clocked next week assuming they win this week. But as a hypothetical, curious on your thought of if just making it to the game allows for exposure, or having to make it to the game and actually being competitive.

 

IMO Covcath can’t bring NKY really anymore exposure than they already do. People across the state already know CovCath and think of them as a top program in the state. So them advancing and possibly competing better doesn’t bring NKY anymore exposure, because people around the state probably expect that. When they think of NKY football, they already think about the teams I mentioned. So when those teams advance it’s not like it’s bringing more exposure to the brand of NKY football, because people across the state already know those programs as being top programs. So a team like Conner beating Covcath would bring more exposure no matter how they do the next rounds, because it would let the rest of the state know hey there are other good teams in NKY besides Covcath and the other three mentioned.

In round 3, the state stays split east and west. RPI is used. The #1 east RPI plays the #4 east RPI, and east 2 plays east 3. Same happens on the west side bracket in round 3.

Beechwood is the most hated school in NKY.

Also think Conner beat CCH in 1985? It wasn’t officially playoff but last game of the season and winner won the subdistrict. 9-0 CCH lost and was not in playoffs. 

Generally your hated if you win on a regular basis. Nobody hates teams that don't win.

Almost certain that was Lloyd who beat CovCath in the sub-district and kept a 9-1 Colonel team out of the playoffs.

It wasn’t Conner that defeated CovCath in ‘85, it was Lloyd.

It was Lloyd that beat Cov Cath in the last game of the season in 1985. 9 and 1 and did not go to the playoffs.
