Boyle - Needs to replace DC.  Clevenger mainly an Offensive guy but could see him going there at least short team.  Big enough program that former head coaches seem comfortable there.  A couple of years ago I think there were 5 or 6 former HC's on staff at same time. 

Lincoln - They have got their man.

Mercer - They have their man and a pretty good staff.

West Jessamine - Just one abbreviated year under new coach but took great strides from '19 to '20.

East Jessamine - Seems content with their mediocrity.

Washington County - Needs to improve.  Tough district.

Casey - Stoney isn't going anywhere and they will soon forget about this hiccup of a season. 

Marion - Needs something. Not sure it's Clevenger.

Rockcastle - Needs a change, see remarks for East Jessamine.

Garrard - I think Perry is there a couple of more years before he hangs it up. 

Madison Central - Would have been intriguing if Holcomb was not already on board.  

 

If moving out of the area is off the table then actually Boyle seems like the best fit, if only for a year or two.  But just my opinion of course. 

 

 

In regards to Washington, Marion, Rockcastle and East Jessamine, I could not disagree more. Those guys love their kids and program. They are working their tails off to do the best they can with the resources they have.

Coach Clevenger will be greatly missed here, as will his assistants, his family, and any kids who leave as a result of this. He brought the program back to life. My son had a chance to play for him and I couldn’t be more grateful for him. 
The super, the AD, and the principal have made a terrible decision that I hope they regret greatly. If not now, they will at some point. They made this decision because he doesn’t sit idly by when they make decisions that affect his program and his players, he speaks out and takes up for his guys. They don’t like that. They fire anyone who speaks out as we’ve seen the last few years. 
He also started a freshman QB over another QB who has money/influence and whose father is a coach for another sport. That didn’t make some people happy. I’d say people also complained about that. But it was the right decision and he’s never cared about politics. He plays the best players period. 
Coach Clev was the best thing to happen to this program in a long time and the superintendent needs to go honestly. She is ruining everything great about Danville Schools. This is just the latest in a long line of bad decisions.

I'm hearing Danville parents are really wanting the AD gone. She's the main reason on Coach Clevenger dismissal. Hearing she got upset with Coach Clevenger on not playing the Boyle County football game this year because she is not going to get gate money next year. Also hearing the Superintendent never comes to any athletic events so she has no clue what's really going on.

So is Lisa Fisher part of the problem?  This is the first time I've seen her name brought up during this.  I know she's been at Danville for several years, not always as AD, but in some capacity.

You know I’m all about the money side of things but Boyle’s Coordinators make almost the equivalent of many head coaching positions in this state. He may find it to be a good home for him! 

Larry Vaught is reporting that Bob Allen Motormall has ended their sponsorship of Danville's Pigskin Classic as a result of Clevenger's firing. Vaught says Bob Allen's sponsorship over the last 20 years has put over a quarter million dollars into the Danville High School athletics program. They have also lost bowl sponsor Hardee's of Junction City.

Obviously the bowl sponsorship isn't everything for the Ads, but you can't help but wonder what kind of impact this is going to have on athletics at DHS...like the baseball program, for example.

Being a HC isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Probably the biggest perk is you get to set the work hours.  One of the upsides to this whole Covid thing is staffs have learned to work more remotely. You get a side of the ball. You get to make probably a pretty good amount of decisions on your own/control. On top of all that you don’t have to put up with/do all the other stuff that is a royal pain as a HC.

Bob Allen was a big Danville sponsor.  Losing that is more than enough justification for other people to lose their jobs IMO.

Does this fall out from firing Coach Clevenger doom the next guy that comes in to lead Danville? 

Somebody will take the job but man I can't imagine who would willingly walk into this mess.

Yea It wouldn't surprise me it he stays in Danville but not at Danville.

So did he interview at Highlands earlier this week or not?

"Now Tye Financial Group and Blue Moon Insurance have decided they will not be sponsors and Papa John’s of Danville is currently “reconsidering” its athletics donations to Danville High School."
