There is a rally of support for Coach Clevenger planned for today from 3-6pm in front of Central office.  Various FB post encourage a lot of signage.

I really didn't think so until the last few days.  Still may not but the amount of money the school system is looking at losing in sponsorship money and community support, it may indeed.  Every school board members email has been shared many time.  Principal, Superintendent and anyone with an oar in the water is getting mentioned, referred to, requested for comment and the like.  

I've mentioned a couple of times on here that the Super is a lame duck.  So she really doesn't have to do anything.  But they are making it as hard as they can on her if she doesn't reconsider.  Instead of slowly fading away, it seems to be gaining momentum.

After the seemingly unfair treatment this man has experienced, is there a chance that he would even consider returning to work for the same administration?

I personally don't think there would be any better time to do so than now-

What could they do to him realistically if he got the job back? Ball is in his court now.

Super has one more year left on her contract.

I get what you are saying, but if the principal and other administrators were part of the coach's firing, they could make his life pretty miserable.  Just wondering if it would be worth it to Coach Clevenger to remain Danville's coach, or move on.

In a way...he'd almost be his own boss, and it would just be one year of it or two at the most. Her contract won't be renewed and/or she'll hit the road on her own accord. As for the principal? I don't know how much he even had to do with it, but he is either right at retirement years or maybe even past it.

The previous principal was fired by this same super for not firing an employee (Super wanted this person gone, put it on the previous principal who everybody LOVED...she didn't fire the person, Super then let her go), so he very well may just have gone along with it for the sake of saving his job.

It's sad, but when the quest for power becomes the most important factor in the decision making process, many people are hurt.  Good luck to Coach Clevenger!

I kinda agree with this.  Plus, Coach Clevenger has some asst. coaches that their jobs are in limbo.  If he was asked to come back that would weigh in on me If I had to make that decision. 

  

Why did the want his fired in the first place? I hear Paducah is looking for a coach???

After watching the video of the board meeting and the fact that the locks of the football building were changed sometime in the last two days, I do not think there is any chance he is retained or reinstated.  I know I've gone back and forth on this matter the last several days and the amount of community support continues to grow.  However, the look on the face of the Superintendent tells me she is not budging.  Feel sorry for these kids and all of the assistant coaches stuck in the middle of this. 

I'm as big of a Boyle supporter as you will find, but the wins against great Danville teams are the sweetest.  Where is CovCath without a strong Highlands?  I fear that the Danville football program of old may soon be damaged beyond repair.  Maybe not, but man it sure seems like it might.

While I tend to agree that the situation isn't great, Danville is still one of about 20 programs in the state that can realistically expect to win a state championship. That will be appealing to many, especially if what other posters have said is true about the superintendent/administration being on the way out within a couple of years anyway.

No good coach will touch this job with such a toxic board and super! They will get a retread or some hot shot middle school coach!
