The road from Lexington to Georgetown has been paved with contempt in recent years, as the fledgling rivalry between Frederick Douglass and Scott County has grown from just another game on the schedule into arguably the biggest game of the year in central Kentucky.

In Douglass' inaugural season of 2017, Scott County tamed the Broncos twice, by a combined score of 100-34. The two teams split the 2018 series, with Scott County laughing last after some postseason revenge. The tide turned in the Broncos' favor last year, with a two game sweep on their way to the 5A championship game. Each side has come away victorious three times, with two more games all but assured again this season.

Montago Jones has been the workhorse for Scott County (2-0) through two games, while Douglass (0-1) will likely look to spread the ball around to its plethora of playmakers.

Can Scott County strike back after last year's two game sweep and keep a zero in Douglass' win column, or will the Broncos continue to build on 2019's mastery of "the team from up north"?

This should be a good one. It is true that Scott Co. scored a 100 points in its first two games vs the Broncos it their inaugural season. However in the four games since then the Broncos have outscored the Cardinals 115-42. The teams are currently tied at 3 wins each since they began playing.

The Cardinals defense so far this year has only allowed 24 points. The Broncos defense is very good as well. The Douglass offense gets most of the talk but their D is very good. They held North Hardin and Kentucky signee Lavell Wright to only 86 yards on 21 carries.

The Broncos are coming off a tough 19-17 loss at the buzzer to 6A power North Hardin. The Broncos were hampered in that first game by 5 turnovers 3 of which were interceptions by their new quarterback. Frederick Douglass in their history are now 35-6 all-time with 3 of those 6 losses coming at the hands of Scott Co. I do think Douglass is a little too talented for the Cardinals this season, but they will have to cut down on their turnovers to achieve a victory. I know the extra week of practice has been very helpful to the Broncos. I look for the Broncos to win by double digits. This is one of only two away games for Douglass this strange season, ironically both of the Broncos away games are at the field at Great Crossing shared by both the Seahawks and the Cardinals.

This game has been postponed. As a district game, it will have to be rescheduled, so we're going to go ahead and lock this thread and a new one can be started whenever the time comes that the game has been rescheduled.
