I can't describe it. Something like 14 teams make the post season. I do not see what the problem is with the current format. If someone can make sense of it, please reply.

Take it to 14 teams, whatever. I hate it, but it's what sports continue to move to. Always adding to playoffs rather than taking away so more teams are in the race longer.

 

The picking your opponent is ridiculous.

1) No teams are going to want to give another team the "bulletin board material" associated with picking them.

2) It's absolutely stupid and ignorant and unintelligent and dense and mindless and foolish and dull-witted and empty headed.

This just sounds crazy, and I assume this would push the World Series into November, which is also crazy.

Only change I would like to see is the wild-card needs to be a 2 out of 3. You play 162 games and one game eliminates you.

I'd rate the proposal among the dumbest ideas I've ever seen in professional sports.

 

Baseball has 162 games. They need less teams in the postseason if they're going to do anything. Personally, I'd rather see them shorten to 144 games and keep it where it's at. These are things we know will never happen.

This is purely a distraction from the Astros situation by MLB. This will never go into play.

Reds could challenge in the Central.

I don't have a problem with them increasing the number of teams in the playoffs. But they should just seed it and play it out that way. If you want to reseed it after the first round that's okay too. If they did add a playoff round, however, I'd like to see them cut the regular season back to 156 games so the season would still end in October.
