sumoroyal
I thought watching the first two weeks there has been a lot of holding calls. Heck, the Bengals has had probably ten of those. Tonight, they said there have been 179 holding calls the first two weeks versus like 107 last year. Anymore, I watch a play and if it a big gainer, I automatically start looking for a flag. NFL has to do something about this. I have a hard time believe blocking is that much worse than the past years. LET THEM PLAY!!!!
theguru
Even Tom Brady was complaining on Twitter about it according to the announcers. Ain't it great, the NFL has their own players trolling the league. No wonder ratings are down.
Jumper_Dad
Defensive lineman and pass rushers are so fast these days, O-linemen can't stay in front of them.
HSfootballfan18
I heard they said it was going to be a point of emphasis this year! We all know you could call holding on every single play!
theguru
I heard they said it was going to be a point of emphasis this year! We all know you could call holding on every single play! Just like computers potentially calling balls and strikes in baseball, I wonder what is going to happen if the NFL ever goes to a technology based officiating system. I wonder if the "tech model" will be calling multiple holding penalties on every play.
sumoroyal
Just quit calling it off the play. If it is not at the point of attack, let it go. On kick offs also.
rjs4470
What makes it seem even worse is the number of TD’s and big plays that I’ve seen called back. There have been a few instances of two TD’s on the same drive called back.
TheDeuce
Just quit calling it off the play. If it is not at the point of attack, let it go. On kick offs also. This would go a long way to making a difference. When I was officiating, I never called a hold away from the play.
