November 3, 200619 yr If you ever watched Scooby Doo, The Deuce favors Scrappy Doo as was his nickname all thru middle and high school. He was also a pretty scrappy player on the field. For all of us who have known him forever he will always be Scrappy. Sorry Deuce. November 3, 200619 yr Only at the state football finals have I ever had so much fun at a football game (involvement of Brian Brohm... coincidence?) and only at the state football finals have I ever been colder at one. It's also a coincidence that I hear Brian Brohm's name involved in a game that people accuse of being short on defense. Well, I'd like to see any defense in the country stop Slaton and White. The SEC champs couldn't do it last season and neither can anyone else... but that defensive stop in the third quarter that led to the punt return for a touchdown was one of the most impressive hitting and tackling displays over one series that I've seen in some time. What a game. This one is especially sweet for those of us who remember sitting in the cold at Old Cardinal Stadium in the 80's and 90's to watch Louisville lose continuously to Nowhere State, with only about 3,000 people in the stands. There's always something to be said for the bad old days...

Now, just run the table, ... one game at a time, ... and get to the national title game. :thumb: Funny thing that UL fans should cheer for UK now as well as every win for the Cats helps UL's SOS. UK fans should cheer for UL as we could possibly be saying that we lost to a team playing for the national title AND it is good for football in the entire state of KY if they do get there. In other words, an unholy alliance should be formed for the remainder of the 2006 season between Cats and Cards fans. OMG! :scared:
November 3, 200619 yr Great win for the program. Brohm was outstanding. The teams are pretty evenly matched and WVU made mistakes that the Cards didn't.

Just putting my opinion out there, I laughed when I read that first post I quoted. This is not the time or place for this argument though. Don't want to take away from what the Cardinal football team has done.
