November 3, 200619 yr Arkansas is only three spots behind USC. How did that matchup go??? We can play this game all day. BOTTOM LINE. The BEast Champ and SEC Champ played last year. The BEast champ ran wild for over 500 yards in a win. So to make claims like you have are a bit more than outrageous to a non SEC homer... And coming from a Big East homer, they're just as outrageous. Just look at the facts. That's all that needs to be stated. The facts support that the SEC is the toughest conference in the land. The Big East is far, far behind. That's an unbiased statement.
November 3, 200619 yr ...really had more of a bend don't "completely" break game. Uhh.. UofLs offense was very impressive, without a doubt, but giving up 33 to ANYONE is breaking, not bending. It was a shootout pure and simple. Louisville came up with the big plays and won, but there are no excuses for the defense.

November 3, 200619 yr Deuce, not to rain on your parade--like I said earlier it was truly a landmark win--but what about Louisville's run defense. Earlier when someone said that White and Slayton would both rush for 100 yards you said "It ain't happening." Is WVU simply that good or did UL build up its defensive stats against bad rushing teams? Their offense and special teams were good tonight but I can't see a team that tackles like that beating OSU or Michigan in a title game. That someone was me; and his silence to me is deafing, expected, and a little disappointing.

I was at the Purde/Penn State game this past Saturday. 12-0 final. Exciting stuff, let me tell you. Anyway, you're right. If L'ville finishes undefeated they will get the BCS spot over any SEC team. I know that. I've already dealt with that fact. And don't need a pill to do so. My point is just that it won't be the BEST team playing. Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU are all better in my opinion than Louisville. I guess this is just another argument for a playoff system.
November 3, 200619 yr Georgia was ranked 10th - Bama 23rd. And if you did get bonus points for beating an overranked team, Louisville would be sitting atop the BCS standings come Sunday. Miami WAS ranked 17th when Louisville beat them.

I agree with you that if UL makes the BCS it wont be the 2nd best team in the country playing in the game. However out of the teams you mentioned I would take UL over LSU and Tennessee, but just not over Auburn or Florida. College football just needs a playoff system. I know I would love to see an 8 team playoff to determine the champion, but I know that probably wont ever happen and if it did it wont be for a long time...
