Ohio State and Michigan are not the two best teams in the country. You have your opinion, I have mine. Your blanket statement that both are better than EVERYONE is just not true.

 

I think there's a lot of parity this season. But as far as conferences go - back to our original point - the SEC and Big Ten are the top two. The Big East is somewhere wayyyy behind them.

:thumb: Well I do agree. But you dont think there is any chance say like your UM team beats OSU by a decent margin at OSU and then say Auburn or either Florida wins the SEC championship by a pretty decent margain that they SEC school still would have no chance at being in the title game?

I mean no disrespect to anyone on here, but I've GOT to say this: Louisville, West Virginia, and Rutgers would ALL have at least two losses if they played in the S.E.C. No one in the Big East conference has beaten a ranked team!! (Louisville's win over Miami doesn't count, since the Canes aren't currently ranked).

 

The winner of the Big East does NOT deserve a shot at the National Title game. If there were a 16-team playoff, then yes, they should be in that field. But a one loss Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, Texas, or USC team would dismantle Louisville. If the Cards want real national respect (not just being the media darlings of those feel-good, basketball-loving journalists) then they should schedule some tough teams.

 

If Louisville played in the S.E.C. or Big Ten, they wouldn't have to worry about BCS rankings. Their main goal would be making it to a bowl game. Louisville is a good team, don't mistake me, but they are a far cry from what a true National Championship caliber team really is.

 

This truth will come out in the bowl game. Whomever the Cards play - especially if it's in a BCS bowl - will expose them as the pretty-on-paper champs of a powder-puff conference that they truly are.

Other than UT's win over CAL who has the SEC beaten that is ranked? AND Miami was ranked when Louisville beat them, like it or not.

The point of my argument was that UT (and several other SEC schools) have played a tougher schedule than U of L. So, let's go ahead and count Miami as being ranked under this logic (UGA ranked 10th, Bama 23rd). That brings the Cards' total of Top 25 opponents to a whopping two.

 

Vols will have played five.

Just remember this - 9 out of 10 times the SEC champ is going to embarass the Big East champ.

I agree somewhat with you. I think if you put those 3 Big East schools in the SEC that none of them would go undefeated, but I wouldn't go out and say for sure that they would definitely get 2 losses in the conference because they are both good teams. Also did you not watch last years sugar bowl, everyone was saying how the BigEast was an easy conference and they shouldn't be in a BCS game, but tell me how did they do in that game???

I don't have enough time to answer that question. The SEC had at one time four teams in the Top Ten. They beat up on each other. That's the problem. That's why it'll take a miracle for an SEC school to ever win the National Championship. Winning the SEC Title is about as prestigious as winning the NC.

 

I never disputed the fact that Miami was ranked AT THE TIME Louisville beat them. The Canes are far from being ranked now.
