Now on to the game, I am in agreement with what someone said previously. Defense was very good most of the game. Love seeing the kids flying around and having "fun" while doing it. Huddleston was everywhere last night on the defensive side of the ball, but he was not the only one.

 

Offense, well that needs some work. Any Bird fan that came away satisfied is kidding themselves. The play list used when the ball is inside the opponents 20 needs to be thrown in the trash and start over and I will leave it at that.

 

Coach, have confidence in your kicking game even if a field goal is missed. Points are points are points and in a close game down the road you may need a 3 to win a game.

 

Also a shout out to Adam Weyer on what I believe was his first varsity touchdown catch.

My oldest took a friend from a neighboring state and the kid said this was like Friday Night Lights with a cannon, jumbo tron and a college band! OU was awesome and how neat of a performance. Huddleston did his thing but Hagedorn is really starting to shine. The defense in general great job. I too was impressed with Courtney! SK run defense is really solid! Shout out to Hollingsworth tonight a nice glimpse to the future, keep working hard you look ready for the keys.

Lastly young Mason South I see you with your special team tackles. The future is very bright mark my words.

What year is Hollingsworth?

“Cannon” has been used all year. It’s acutally more of a push button explosive device used from the roof. Hollingsworth is a junior and HHS is dominating the JV games so far. He really impressed me last night. SK QB came in and struggled. When Hollingsworth came in he was very poised and marched right down the field for a TD. He has a HUGE arm for deep balls but what surprised me was his touch on the swing pass to Cooper out of the backfield.

I disagree. SK is a good team. They certainly aren't a top 5 6A team, but they are a good football team. They are exactly where they always are. A top 5 NKY team. Maybe it's time people start actually saying Highlands can beat GOOD teams. It's getting pretty old.

What injuries do they have?

My kiddo does not say much after games but he said there was a little throwback to NKYFL days with Red Devils and South Kenton. Trent and JJ with a quick reminiscing when JJ told Trent - it's not like little league is it? They've played against each other for years.

They did have 4-5 starters go down Friday night. Not sure of the severity I think only one came back into the game.
