  1. I've worked on a case involving KHSAA and its arbitrary decision making process which decision was absolutely wrong based on the facts that were presented and of record. The appeal process involves taking the matter to circuit court. The issue is whether the player and his family can afford or are willing to take the issue to the next level. Otherwise the arbitrary decisions of the khsaa are just filed away and don't become public unless published or thrown around on social media. I don't have any independent knowledge of this particular case but the khsaa should revisit its policies and due process procedures in order to have more consistency.
  2. My kiddo does not say much after games but he said there was a little throwback to NKYFL days with Red Devils and South Kenton. Trent and JJ with a quick reminiscing when JJ told Trent - it's not like little league is it? They've played against each other for years.
  3. The link to live coverage is posted on Highlands Athletic Department page and I've listed that page for your convenience as well as the link to the YouTube page. hhsathletics
  4. Here's your hammer response. It's not appropriate to call someone a "cancer". Come on. Be better than a name-caller.
  5. Kuddos to Stephen to take this next step in his coaching career. Hope it is good move for the kids and families vested in the success with the school on the hill.
  6. The "begging" text is incorrect. It happens every year. Gives the coach(es) the chance to have all the kids interested in winter weights/winter program to know what's coming up after the holidays and when kiddos come back to school in January. Don't read anything into the "begging" comment. Simply a msg out to the kids to come listen to the coach(es) rather than just lift weights.
  7. Gone soft? They have NOT gone soft. My son has not gone soft. He's intense and loves this game, his coaches and teammates. Wrong phrase TPCE.
  8. What a great kid and great family! Congrats Michael and to his parents, Kim & Greg, on raising an awesome Bird!
  9. Assuming the location of semi-final games was swapped due to CovCath's appearance as a semi-finalist and, possibly, their wish to play at their home field. If that is the case, the fact that CCHS and HHS kids and families/supporters must travel to Cooper during rush hour for a 5pm game on Friday evening is a bit ridiculous. Game should stay in Campbell County. If the CovCath game location was changed (contrary to the initially released bracket) due to a possible request from CovCath, then game between HHS and CCHS should be played at Highland Park or CCHS. The teams should deserve the same treatment and not travel.
  10. @ cupcake2106 I'm very close to the program and have NO idea what you are referencing.
  11. The poor choices in behavior by #25 and #14 did not appear to be handled by the SC coaches. Surprised that a coach didn't admonish. Instead #25 went back into the game. On the other hand - #27? After the game came over to a Birds lineman #65 Trent Johnson to shake his hand and said that he had a tough time getting past Trent. That's was a nice gesture and sign of sportsmanship. Maybe #27 could teach a few things about it to his teammates.
  12. Yes - this is correct. 2nd game btwn the two programs is Thurs at 6pm at Highlands. The previously scheduled Dixie game was cancelled within the first week or two of the season bc of Dixie's lack of numbers.
  13. The baby birds are a talented group of kids. Looking forward to seeing them the next two weeks and next three years.
  14. One of the biggest fundraisers was similar to a walk-a-thon but with activities rather than traditional 'walking' for miles. Kids raised money to compete.
  15. Now you're backtracking. It was not a joke. You cannot make such comment that has a tinge of misconduct. The comment was enough that I had to sign in to put the kibosh on it and make sure others weren't misled by your statement.
  16. Ballsy statement "green and purple." Not his pocketbook. It's ideas and tenacious people who are doings things for the kids. Fun events and constant flow of ideas and results have made "free" possible for the youth.
  17. One to Highlands, few to NCC and a few to CCHS
  18. Yep! Kids from Ft. Thomas can play for Red Devils.
