McGinness gets IW men on 2nd and 1st two outs

Forget the young man's name but he hits a ball to no man land in center field,

too deep for the SS/2nd basemen to get to and too shallow for the CF to get to but he gives it

a great try but can't come up with the ball

CovCath scores the go ahead run to win the game.

 

Outstanding pitching duel between the two young pitchers!

Great job, Jackson! When is the final? Tomorrow is the last day they can play I assume.

The other JV game between Highlands and Campbell Co has been called due to rain.

We will have to wait and see about Sunday, as I don't think HHS, Campbell or CovCath have rules about not playing on Sunday, but........

The game was on rain delay in 3rd inning, they called the game, sent kids home...then later reported that a coin was flipped to determine the winner...Campbell County lost the flip

The game was not determine by a coin toss. Fake news.

Ryle Vs Cov Cath was a well pitched game by both young pitchers (10 Strikeouts Each). You have to give credit that the defense for Cov Cath saved the game for them. Two diving plays that saved runs. First inning by Cov Cath Second Basemen...Diving play in the hole to make the third out and save at least 1 run. Then in the 5th inning 2 outs and two on, Ryles number 4 hitter hits a shot to ally between center and right....but the speed and effort by Cov Cath's Center fielder (McGinnes?) made the difference with a diving catch. You cant teach effort and hustle. Congrats to Cov Cath. You can see the game saving diving play here

Then how was it determined?

Game was rained out at Campbell and in order to move game to another location, Campbell would have to order buses. They couldn't get one on short notice on a Saturday so they gave Highlands the victory so finals could be finished. Neither Highlands or Campbell is allowed to play on a Sunday.
