You are right. Offense struggled and HHS still won THAT big! It speaks volumes for the team and that is what great teams do. They pick up the other side when one isn't clicking. Can you imagine the score if both sides were rolling? Big win Birds. Birds D came to play... A BIG game on the SK side for JJ Courtney. That guy can play. He is impressive. and a GREAT showing by Hollingsworth when he needed to come in and play QB for the Birds.

SK is not very good. They are about to get beat by a 1a team here soon..Highlands offense is quite offensive in my opinion. They might want to run a lot more 2 back sets. Cooper Schwalbach has no chance running in a single. If they want to compete with CovCath they will have to figure it out.. Not good!!

Definitely think this one could’ve easily been 60-7ish. SK scored on a broken play where the QB took off and scored from 40 yds. Highlands was bringing the wood all night, at one point had knocked out the 1st and 2nd string RB’s and QB’s.

Seemed like Grady had a little bit of an off night connecting with receivers but he’s been lights out the last few games and the Birds still won big. I’ll take that win any day of the week. They are making strides each week IMO and going in the right direction.

 

Side note, 78 for SK is a stud and was causing havoc all night and I was also impressed by Hollingsworth ability to come in cold and lead the Birds to a score!

Offense needs help. So predictable. Put the blockers in when you run the ball. All this cute stuff of trips right or left then run a dive out of shotgun is terrible. Not sure how you top the Ohio U band... maybe the monkey on the dogs back for the covcath game. Don’t know....

I disagree. SK is a good team. They certainly aren't a top 5 6A team, but they are a good football team. They are exactly where they always are. A top 5 NKY team. Maybe it's time people start actually saying Highlands can beat GOOD teams. It's getting pretty old.

Exactly...... Although, I've seen this offense look good this year and drive down the field aggressively. Those times have been when they do the roll out / short passing game and the two back set. The two back set gives the RB an extra step. Also, I love it when they throw the swing pass to Cooper, that has been there every time they try it.

 

So the 'Birds won big against a respectable 6A opponent with offense playing below average. That is good news. They are improving, when they are firing on all cylinders watch out!

Yep... It was said on the preview thread. Highlands special teams and D will be the difference. Some teams loose points on special teams. Highlands always picks up a score and great field position. That matters in games.

Cramer still holding the ball too long. Took a lot of hits tonight he didn’t have to. When he decided to pull it down and run it worked out, needs to learn to slide though...will live longer.
