He then lunged for the endzone, reached the ball over the goal line, and at that point it was a touchdown. I contend that he did not have any feet down when he caught "had possession" of the ball. When his feet were down the ball was moving. I don't know the whole rule but basically don't you have to have possession first and then two feet down? I saw it as: 1. Two feet down 2. Reaching out for the ball 3. Touching the ball 4. Feet leaving the ground 5. Possesion of the ball 6. Reaching the ball out

If you get a completion of over 40 yards from anywhere on the field you need to score 6 on that drive... Why are we relying on our defense to win games for us... Why does it take a whole half for us to figure out how to run block again? What I am saying is that we shouldn't have put ourselves in the position where one call makes the difference in the game... take care of business yourselves and you don't have to worry about what the guys in stripes are saying...

October 15, 200619 yr I'm sorry, but as bad as the Bengals played, I still have to lay the loss on that call. The Bengals recover the fumble on that play, and the Bucs are done. I didn't see a fumble. I thought he lost the ball when he hit the ground.
October 15, 200619 yr I don't like to blame the game on one call but wow. The Bucs ended up scoring on that drive and ended up winning the game when instead it should have been the Bengals ball. I don't understand how that was roughing the passer. He didn't pass the ball so he essentially just became like a running back that is eligible to be tackled. That gets a flag but Carson's knee injury in the playoff game doesn't? The ref who called that should be ashamed and I hope the league does something, even addressing the call as a mistake will be enough for me.
October 15, 200619 yr Just for fun say the Bengals miss playoffs by one game. Not only does Mike Carey affect the outcome of a game it becomes a season. The call was driving QBs head into the ground, I don't think his head ever touches the ground. I just can't see how Carey saw something that did not happen. Makes me wonder if something else isn't behind how that went down.

October 15, 200619 yr The defender did drive the QB into the ground head first!! That's not what is in question, to me anyways did he rough the passer is what is in question. The defender was just making a tackle is what I saw but the offical must have thought that he didn't have to drive him into the ground.
