October 16, 200619 yr That ref seemed to throw a flag on every other play. He had already had one flag picked up after he threw it on a roughing the passer earlier in the game(when the qb slid head first and was tagged down by our linebacker). Can the nfl review the game and suspend or fine him for making bad calls and being "flag happy"? Anyone holding out hope that this crew is going to be reprimanded needs to take a step back. Yes, I think the call on Smith was a bad call. Bad calls happen. In that case, its a judgment call. The guy should get credit for picking up the flag on the call on Miller. He got it right on that one.

How about the play Palmer got hit in the face after he threw it and there was no call? That was bad. The Geathers one was pretty weak (he should have stopped, but he didn't really even hit him he just kind of pushed him). Then they call a late hit on a slide where Caleb Miller fell and put his hands on him. Then they call a roughing the passer on a tackle around the waist. Out of the 3 called one had to be fixed, the other could have gone either way, and the other more than likely changed the outcome of the game. I think a fine is in order.
October 16, 200619 yr How about the play Palmer got hit in the face after he threw it and there was no call? I don't think CP was concerned about that. Despite what the announcers said, CP was upset that TJ was held. Then they call a late hit on a slide where Caleb Miller fell and put his hands on him. They picked that one up once they realized he slid head first. I think a fine is in order. No chance.

October 16, 200619 yr Utterly mystifying. The last few minutes of that game brought back the awful sick at my stomach feeling of the David Shula era. They played to lose instead of taking charge and finishing the deal like championship teams do. This team has sunk back into that"finding a way to lose" mentality. The play calling late played right into that. This defense isn't nearly good enough to leave it to them to win the game. I am very, very disappointed in this football team. It should be a felony that the Bengals let T.B. steal that game. But, then again, the Bengals and felonies go hand in hand. This is not a good football team. When do the Reds start spring training?
October 16, 200619 yr Anyone holding out hope that this crew is going to be reprimanded needs to take a step back. I'm sure Cincinnati will get the Obligatory, "Sorry, we messed up" apology from the NFL. But it does no one any good at this point.
October 16, 200619 yr Blitzing puts a burden on your corners. Maybe Marv doesn't think his corners can handle it. But doesn't giving the QB, 3-4-5-6 seconds to sit back there without pressure and wait for someone to pop open, the same thing?
October 16, 200619 yr Seriously... As far as the Roughing the Passer call... I can see how you guys could view it as a bad call the way it happened. However, if Simeon Rice drove Carson's head into the ground like that, Bengal Nation would be all up in arms if it wasn't called. There is no way you can make me believe otherwise. As a Buc fan, the ref made the correct call. Actually I dont think any Bengals fan would have said anything about it if that happened to Carson. Because if a flag was not thrown, no body would have even looked at it liked it as driving the guys head into the ground. Even if they showed the replay, still no one would think it would be a penalty because that was just a regular QB sack that happends all the time in football. So there would have been no complaints from bengals fans...

Repeat, there was nothing dirty about it so please see it from an objective view.
October 16, 200619 yr Riiiiight...   UL is the best team in the country:rolleyes:  :thumb: The Giants do no wrong. Give me a break guys you both know that wasn't roughing the passer. And most would have never looked at that sack as a penalty.

Has there been any NFL analysts that has agreed with the call? Not sure, but it seems the only ones who think it was a good call was the official and those Bengal bashers.
October 16, 200619 yr Riiiiight...   Carson fumbled on the game winning drive two years ago, i never said a word. It was a clean sack that caused it.
