For the Raceland Rams players .... You have came a long way, (by some opinions not supposed to get past the 2nd round of the playoffs) there is no reason to hang your heads, we just got whipped by a better football team.

As an Alum of RHS, I am one proud old fart Rambler of this Rams team :thumb:. Thanks to our coaches and players for doing what it takes to get this far :thumb:.

Rams ....Every team in KY. Class 1A football but you and Beechwood wishes that they were playing in this game today, but You were the Only ones that were good enough to make it to the Championship game. Hold your heads high, you have nothing to be ashamed of.

As always, it's a Great Day to be a Ram.

Congrats Beechwood, and to Raceland on a fine season. Beechwood D was on another level, I think the broadcasters said negative passing yards for Raceland?

Attendance was said to be at 7,000+ according to Josh Moore of the HL. Highest attended since 2000.

The broadcast that I was listening to estimated the Raceland crowd at close to 3,000 ! For a town this small that's incredible. Everyone in D.C. talking about a government shut down ....Raceland had exactly that. The mayor designated today "Rams 2017 day", shut down the city bldg. ....Government shutdown :lol2: .

It's funny how we, in an attempt to keep things interesting and seemingly ignore the inevitable, create and maintain conversation throughout the season about not crowning someone as champion in the preseason because so-and-so is a real threat, and shouldn't be overlooked.

This year in 1A is a good example. Beechwood was the consensus #1 to start the year, and maintained that position all season long. Hazard was the consensus #2 early on, but injuries took their toll. Next, it was Paintsville, but they couldn't even get out of their own region. KCD was good, but not nearly good enough. Lastly, there was Raceland. Some of us tried to envision a scenario where Raceland could make it interesting, if not pull the upset.

But, in the end, it was something of a season long false narrative. Beechwood stands alone, just like we thought they would 15+ weeks ago.
