Great players make great plays.

How about this ... Scott/Campbell played three games this year:

-each was decided on the last possession

-each had a buzzer beating shot

-each shot was made by the best three players: Bertsch, Hegyi, Ohmer

 

Congratulations to all the young men for quality hoops. All memorable games.

Shooters roll.. looks like a foul as well could of been called.. but a ref will 90% not blow his whistle on the last play...

 

Try telling that to Mason County fans.

I did the same thing, and it is remarkable how close it was. Referees don't get enough credit for these tight calls .... had it been really close the other way, many would be calling for his head. This is really tough to do, AT GAME SPEED, and I am impressed that far more often than not they get it right, without the benefit of slowed down, frame by frame analysis. Nice job fellas.

No better person to hit a game winning shot in a game like this!

 

It was a heck of a shot, no doubt, and Ohmer is a heck of a player, but he is hard to root for when he blatantly does things like elbowing guys in the head and trying to trip players. With a player of his talent, these things are unnecessary and uncalled for.

My feeling is that they knew Ohmer would be covered. Pouncy got a wide-open look and took it with plenty of time for the win and for a rebound and stickback that could have sent it to overtime.

 

The ball came off long and Ohmer happened to be in the right place and right time, put it up there, and after catching rim and backboard fell through to send the Eagles to Lexington.

 

The key to the Campbell loss were the two consecutive turnovers while up five points that Scott converted to cut it to one.

 

If you watch the video, you see Ohmer standing directly behind Pouncey. As soon as he sees the shot is off to the right, he breaks that way and beats everyone to the ball. I don't think it was "right place, right time" as much as it was just being a smart player.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is the amount of time Hegyi missed due to the cut on his chin. He had to come out twice for several minutes to get it treated. I think that was significant.

Saw it at floor level from about 15 away…one of the best basketball plays I have ever seen or seen officiated…

The officials were horrible, Jake Ohmer is a dirty player....expected and right on cue comments so far from the losing team's fans both here and on FB this morning.

 

When you don't have a dog in the fight it makes watching a game like this much more enjoyable!
