Give me a break. You're saying this because he didn't score a bunch of points. Bertsch did tons of things right in this game. He was constantly getting doubled in the paint and opening up lanes for other kids to score. People talk all the time on here about kids being more than just scorers and looking at more than just points. All season long, Bertsch was a total team player, team leader, and was unselfish while still averaging 18 ppg. He is a first team all region player in my book.

Yes, he is one of the good guys. I met him when he coached the 7th/8th grade team at Sts. Peter and Paul in 04/05 (maybe) I was in 6th grade and never got to play for him but he still knows my name and speaks to me when he refs games I coach in. He is one heck of a coach and a great guy!

Not sure it means a whole lot now, but I just read Jake Ohmer's comments to Ledger writer Evan Dennison and Ohmer stated that he was trying to draw the foul, but there wasn't one so he just shot it. He said, "I knew it was good when it left my hands!"

On another video i saw where Fro stopped at half court. I believe he was waiting for the Campbell team to gather themselves. Tough situation for Campbell coach to help his kids regroup after that shot.

BTW, this was a well officiated game. Very even.

 

I actually thought the officiating was pretty poor. Not helping one team or the other, but poor overall. One ref in particular.

 

Great game, evenly matched teams. The team with the best player won, and he made a whale of a shot to win the game. Coach Fro may be my new favorite coach. I have always liked and respected him. Even more now.
