Trinity 56 Lafayette 21 - 6A State Championship

Do you have the time stamp for each of Trintys 17 penalties? Asking for a friend. :sssh:

31 total penalties in the game. 17 were T's and 14 were L's.

There were 3 unsportsmanlike calls against T. There were 6 unsportsmanlike calls against L. I think L more than made up for T's abundance of offsides and holding penalties with their own unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

So, no, we don't have time stamps for Trinitys penalties? I was at the game myself, i'm asking for a friend.

Can we get a link to the online video. I can't seem to find it

One of them was when #7 for Trinity was flagged for illegal participation after his helmet was ripped off by #73 for Lafayette.

No no, it fell off.

Can anyone post a clip of the play in which Lafayette's QB was injured?

If there wasn't another hit after the one you can see at the release of the ball,

that is in no way dirty.

My understanding is that the hit you mentioned was the only hit on Walker Wood.

For what it's worth, to re-state, Trinity was not flagged for any penalty on the play.

Can anyone post the clip of #73 ripping #7's helmet off?

I'm going to say, to me that is a completely legit hit. The way it was being talked about I was assuming the guy went low on him. Hit him in the chest and was in the process of trying to make the hit when the ball was released.

The two most unsportsmanlike players in the game were #73 for Lafayette and #53 for Trinity. Both of them had more than one incident.

The hit on Wood was not dirty. I am trying to figure out how his knee was injured. You can't see it in that clip.

What leads you to that conclusion about #53? He only had one flag and that was for illegal participation after his helmet was ripped off.

For the record in the 14 games prior to the state championship game Trinity had exactly ZERO incidents of helmets coming off during play.

Total clean hit. I also love how the blitzing corner or LB blows up the blocking back.

After a few days of letting this one soak in a few comments.

I can't remember a football game like that ever in more then 30 years of watching HS football, especially not in a championship game.

The referees completely lost control. They were totally out of their league with the talent and speed on the field. They should never have been assigned to that game. With all due respect to football in other parts of the state, the officials for the 6A game should always be assigned from NKY, Jefferson County or Lexington based on who is in the game.
