In a State Championship game? Never...

You may be right. I don't know. However, I suspect there are some parents of players who did not get into the game who might not agree with you.

What was the score of the game when Wood got hurt?

42-21 or 49-21....can't remember which.

The games aren't played for the parents.

Didn't say they were. Just as a parent you want your child to enjoy the experience and to be able to say he got to play in a state championship game.

I understand that. But I'm sure that kid will be just fine when he gets his ring... You don't have to play every down to contribute to a title.

Watched the game on line. I did not see that Lafayette was subbing their starters, I am aware they did not sub in the first game. With the nature of the game, I would be hesitant to put kids of lesser stature in against some of the more physically gifted players on the field. It was obvious that the intent for some drastically changed when the game got out of hand. I saw a lot of calls that where missed on the field that could have led to frustrations of players that obviously escalated later in the game.

Anyone with access to the video, go to 2:46:47 to see LL #73 purposely go under the facemask of T #7 and rip the helmet off. And at :51.47 for the crazy late hit on the T QB. Yes sir T was the problem in this game (which is true if the problem is being the better coached, better prepared, better disciplined football team.) LL should be so proud. Roll Tide.

And 3:08.47 is when #48 of LL knocks refs hat off.

Rule #9

To be fair, at 2:05:08 LL #22 helps the T QB up off the ground, so LL did have some sportsmanship moments.

Can we get a link to the online video. I can't seem to find it

Do you have the time stamp for each of Trintys 17 penalties? Asking for a friend. :sssh:

Actually T got a penalty for having the helmet ripped off, so that was one.

And they got another penalty for having their helmet ripped off earlier, but I figured one example was enough.

Actually T got the penalty for continuing to participate after the helmet came off. I thought it was bogus because the LL lineman had lifted him off the ground and drove him about 10 yards. He had no choice in the matter.
