The still picture certainly looks like his helmet went to the chest to me. Still waiting for someone to post the footage of the BAMA commit ripping the helmet of the Trinity kid's head.

 

Seems pretty tough to say definitively that Wills intentionally went for #7's helmet. Did Wills end up knocking his helmet off? Yes. Was it intentional? I certainly can't say for sure from the video footage.

I'm not going to call it intentional either but it clearly shows a hand to the facemask knocking the helmet off. #7 was flagged for illegal participation and Lafayette got 15 more yards. IMHO it should have been offsetting penalties, PF-Facemask on #73 and illegal participation on #7, and the down should have been replayed. #7 should also have been allowed to stay in the game as his helmet came off as the result of an opponents penalty. Just another example of how poorly this game was officiated.

Male must take every student in a JCPS traditional middle school before they can take any student from outside the system. If they have accepted every applicant from a JCPS traditional middle school, they can then offer spots to a few students from other schools. In that case, which is not every year, those students are randomly selected in the district office.

Male is killing Butler's football program. I also understand the opening of the Gheens Center allows for 200 more students at Male. I am still waiting for Highlands to call Coach Wolfe home! :popcorn:

Admittedly I know nothing about this, but I do recall when Redmond was at Male the coaches would laugh about the "sophomore draft", kids transferring in as sophomores who could not get in as freshmen. This resulted in other schools playing some as freshmen because of transfer rules. Bobby did the same thing.

How were the rules "relaxed"? Who were they "relaxed" for?

Eh... I think you're reading too much into my comment. I was trying to gently say that many of them don't have some of the opportunities that are readily available to others.

 

In general, I was trying to shed some light on the demographics of the school district. The school itself is a stone's throw away from Commonwealth and there are some affluent neighborhoods nearby, but the district at large is comprised of some tough neighborhoods. There's a surprising amount of crime in Lexington for a city it's size.

 

I don't agree with the behavior. I just think it's good to understand some of the details when making assumptions about the effort being put forth by the Lafayette coaching staff.

 

In an attempt to turn this more towards football: does anyone know how many seniors were on Trinity's team? I know Lafayette had nearly 30, so that team will look quite a bit different next year.

 

Opportunities are there for everyone who wants them, more so for those who aren't privileged. It's a mindset and a choice that makes one "privileged".

 

We can agree to disagree and leave it at that as far as I'm concerned.
