10th Region Cats Pause Player Rankings

I have only seen Allen play once in person. I have seen highlight videos and AAU stats that look impressive. The game I saw was at AAU State this summer and he could not create his own shot. He only scored off put backs or fast breaks. Maybe he had an off day but usually when having an off day a player can still get around the defender and get good shots they just may not fall. He could not catch the ball on the wing and drive on the defender or create his own shot. This was also against an average AAU team from KY.

I realize this is an intangible, but there are reasons why major D1 programs have visited his practices and others expressed interest at this stage of his career.

I agree and I am not questioning his college potential. Just sharing an observation from when I saw him play. Size and athleticism all looked great but still couldn't create his own show on smaller less athletic kids.

My top 10

4. Blackburn Bourbon County

5. Wells Paris High

With all the comparisons of Crawford, Ohmer, and Allen from last year...... You have to factor in that Crawford, and Ohmer were juniors, and Allen was a freshman last year. To me that's a huge factor.............

I know this isn't popular with some on here but I personally think the player's impact on his team's performance is the determining factor for me. Is he a good teammate? Does he make his team better? Is he a leader by example? Does he step up at the end of close games? Humble and credits TEAM for wins. Role model? Does he mentor the younger players rather than criticize or belittle them?

Of course, I'm "old school".

Not much opportunity for Dontaie on that score.:lol2:

But on all other points I would say yes.

My Son had an opportunity to play with Ohmer at an event and came back with man can he play. Thanks for making him work in the off season. What gets lost in the opinions of others is the mutual respect that these athletes have for one another. One might be a better major prospect but you have to love work ethic and getting better at your craft.

If I was starting a high school team today and all 3 were seniors, I would take Allen, Ohmer than Crawford. Going to be interesting to watch Allen grow under Belcher's tutelage. He knows and understands this young man's game better than anyone and I believe can tap into all that potential.

If the last sentence is factual the kid will be upgraded from stud to star. I look forward to seeing him play again this year.

I watched him play as a 8th grader and was very impress.

I agree w ohmer and Crawford...Allen is going to b elite once he matures still a beast in the 10th region but I'm talking nationally once he grows into those feet. #ParisPride

How would you compare Crawford's supporting cast to Ohmer's?

In my opinion they are about the same with Bracken's loss of Hamilton
