A question for the HHS historians: The game with CovCath has major playoff implications, as does the CovCath / Dixie game the following week.

 

If CovCath prevails, then Highlands is almost assured a 3 seed in the playoffs. Even though this is a little premature, it made me wonder how long has it been (if ever?) since the Birds had to play on the road in the first round of the playoffs?

 

I believe in 95 CovCath, Highlands, Ryle, and Holmes all finished within a game of each other in the district and Highlands hit the road for the first round.

Covcath has been Layin in the weeds all year long staying awfully quiet. They have been almost instructed to keep their mouths shut and respect their rival.

 

Haven't seen any ridiculous comments from the Covcath faithful, no pictures of clocks counting down, no airplane flyovers at DCM this yr...

 

This will be a largest pillow fight that Nky will see in a long long time and whoever scores the most points in the end wins

On paper, everything points to a CCH win. The Colonels know that they're owned by the Bluebirds, and the Bluebirds know they own the Colonels. It's been a mindset for 10 years.

 

Over that course of time, they've had some pretty competitive games, some of which CovCath should have won, but major blunders prevented it from happening, like fumbled punts, dropped exchanges, interceptions while sustaining a drive, blown coverage etc. Highlands had been able to rise to the occasion, where CovCath has not.

 

 

If we don't crap down our legs, take care of the football, and establish a run game, we win.

I completely agree, even with the struggles that Highlands has this season. Cov Cath should win, but they have to get over the mental hump. If there was ever a time to say that if the Colonels don't beat Highlands than they never will, this is the year.
