Cooper Schwalbach- the kid needs to be getting some snaps somewhere. Maybe in short yardage situations as a RB or OLB.

Ben Sisson- had some,Varsity snaps last week.

Nick Bowman- has seen a lot of Varsity but recently delegated to JV.

Bailey Armstrong -undersized but will hit you and has a nose for the ball.

 

At the end of the day you gotta get kids experience.

 

If they lose to CovCath I would expect many younger players to start seeing the field on Friday nights the rest of the season.

Highlands at home and Highlands on the road this year appear to be two different animals. If CovCath doesn't bring their A game, the Colonels will be going home with a loss to Highlands again (and again and again....)

I have asked these boy's the same question over and over and over. They have talked to the underclassmen and the main one's who play and it's as if not many care if they win or lose. I don't know what it's going to take to get these boy's going. I think it's very important these boy's know the community stands behind them as well as the parent's and get the spark back. I have noticed at every game these kid's act like nothing bothers them, while the other team's are all pumped up yelling each time they score, having a good old time and ours just high 5 each other once in awhile. WAKE UP BOY'S.

 

A team needs senior leadership, they set the example. Coaches need to adjust to the talent of the team they have. It is obvious that the defense at Highlands is struggling. Get your best players on the field and go for it. Mix it up. Defense Wins Games.

I would totally agree with you the defense is struggling and struggling bad. However the one's out there playing the coaches must think are the best one's that we have to choose from. The problem lies in even when the senior say something the rest of them do not care. My son claims as do many other boy's to a lot of the boy's as long as they can say they are on a team that's all they care about. Let me tell you these boy's are very frustrated with the whole situation. But at the same time like they say you can't make these boy's do something they don't want to do

These are still High School kids you are talking about, lets keep that in mind. One player wouldn't make a difference in holding Dixie to less than 500 yards rushing.

You are correct these are teenagers and I said nothing bad. You can't sugar-coat kids not wanting to participate because it's not their level. It's called a TEAM for a reason. These boy's get very frustrated when these kid's don't want to help out. And we will never know if it would have made a difference because it didn't happen. I apologize if it comes off as a put down towards a child because it's not meant to be, it's my opinion as well as many others if you don't want to participate in the areas that you're needed then get off the field. Because at that point you no longer are a team player.

He is not getting on the field as it is so how can he get off the field? You mention the transfer and his moving to defense. Is that his choice or is that a choice of the coaches.

What I'm trying to say it's simple. If you are needed at a different position and you have coaches and other teammates asking you to join them to make that side better why would you not do it? No I wouldn't never throw names out because in my opinion that's wrong. But when you have people who are standing on the sidelines waiting for someone ahead of them to get hurt or out sick or out for grades or whatever the case may be then why not go ahead and do a different position just to help out the team? That's my point. And I totally agree with you if the boy's don't want to help out in anyway needed turn in the uniform. But that's not going to happen.
