From what I see there is no violation by Coach Smith or Boyle County, only Mr. Tamme. He is up for re-election this fall and has opposition. The voters in his district will then decide. All this may become a moot point if he is defeated. Many of the comments seem genuine on this post. On the other hand I see many that are sour grapes because they are not lucky enough to have Chuck as their coach and of course the frustrated comedian trying to be funny. I think Chief Smoke said it best in his comments. As for Boyle starting out with 3 losses, that happens to other good programs as well. Boyle has some of the best young talent that they have ever had and will be a state contender for years to come, so I wouldn't say too much, especially if I had to play them.

Chuck Smith and Superman once fought each other on a bet. The loser had to wear his underwear on the outside of his pants.

Chuck Smith once killed two stones with one bird.

Chuck Smith's head is the "heads" side of the pre-game coin toss, the other side is also his head except with the slogan "Tails never fails" engraved

Chuck Smith can throw a football over them there mountains.

It's about time for Chuck Smith's infamous alpha and omega speech.

From the article:

SO YOU KNOW

The Office of Education Accountability confirmed another investigation was underway. According to Karen Timmel, division director of investigations, they could not confirm if the two investigations are related, or release any information about that ongoing investigation.

According to Wikipedia Chuck Smith coach's both Madison central and Boyle County......where he has a 100% chance to become the first coach to win 3A and 6A rings in the same year.......every year.....

I understand the rules but its not like that conversation in the car on the way to Bardstown even needed to happen.

They were going to hire him no matter who else applied.

On another note, after Chuck was done @ UK, I tried to hire him at the school I was at. I knew if I hired him I was basically on borrowed time if/when Boyle Co. opened back up & had already heard some rumblings that French was possibly on his way out. In hindsight, I am glad with who I hired & the stability he brought my program & I didn't have to go through what happened shortly after with Madison Central. (nothing against Coach Smith, I woulda done the same exact thing that he did)

Most on this forum seem to be in favor of Boyle Co. and their board chairman doing what they thought was necessary to hire Chuck Smith. However, I have to ask; what if it was the other way around and Boyle had a board member with a personal vendetta against the beloved Coach Smith and goes behind the scenes to see that he loses him job because a parent and/or parents are upset with Boyle's 3 losses?

Is it okay then?

while I agree with what you saying as far as the influence I truly feel like the KRS is worded incorrectly.

• KRS 160.170, the oath of board members, states that the elected members take an oath that states “he will not, while serving as a member of such board … that he will not in any way influence the hiring or appointment of district employees, except the hiring of the superintendent of schools or school board attorney.”

I think that this was intended to prevent board members from telling the hiring powers that they should hire someone for what ever reason and while the way it is worded he was in violation I dont think the law was intended to prevent a board member from helping the school to hire someone they intended to hire anyway. I think if he says hey guys you need to hire chuck smith its a violation but more than likely it was hey Steve we want chuck back can you help us. I dont see an issue with that given they were gonna go after him anyway.

Stephen Tamme has my vote!!!!!!
