Knightsdad,

You're right on all accounts. Over the last few years, both X and LexCath have used this game to benefit them later in the year. For the past 2 years, X has benefitted by defending against Justin Burke's passing attack, in preparation for Trinity's similar offense, which they will see a few weeks later. When in Louisville, LexCath benefits by going through through the mental, physical, and logistical process of travelling to Louisville for a road game (which they hope to repeat in December) and playing a big, disciplined, hard-nosed team. By exposing LexCath's weaknesses, last night's game will only make LexCath better. I certainly wouldn't count them out in December. After all, it's still August.

I keep remembering how bad I felt after two years ago and this wasn't nearly as bad considering we were playing our first game under a new head coach, new offensive coordinator and a quarterback who only threw twelve passes in his career to date. In 2004 we had an all state quarterback and couldn't do better. I think this will prove to be the best team X has had in recent years if Vic can stay healthy. LexCath will be all right but they need to tighten their chinstraps and get down to business the next two weeks. Thanks for the wakeup.

What was up with the decision making process after the first St. X touchdown????

Going for two and was not even close to being execuited...... Why and Why poor execution?

This next point was really the point of this post.... Given the score at 6 - 0.... I would think that a coaching decision must be made immediately that if we score again in the 1st half, we are or are not going for 2......

Case... St. X scores second TD.... Chooses to go for 1 (with current kicking game, I think you need to practice in practice befor you practice in games.....) Lex Cath jumps on sides..... moves the ball to the 1.5 yard line. I would immediantly make the decision to go for 2.... 20 seconds went by befor there was any indication from staff to go for 2.......???????? Offense rushed out there only to be called for delay of game.... Eventually made the 2 point conversion, however not all opponents will give you this second chance..... Need to improve on the speed of play calling........

Extrapoints, well lets just say that this will cost St.X a loss if this is not corrected, soon...... glad to see 2nd string kicker warming up at half and got the kick early in the second half. I would like to see him in there next week.....

He missed as well, didn't he? #13?

Need to improve on the speed of play calling........

Wow, you win 47 - 0 and still find a way to yell at the coaches. I thought Trinity fans were bad. :thumb:

Play was called QB did not know the whistle had been blown already. His first Varsity start. Also I guess X should be perfect since they have so many lined fields with goalposts for practice.

This one was U-G-L-Y from the get-go...St. X came out firing on all cylinders and didn't look back...Other than a somewhat decent drive to start the game by LexCath, X dominated this game in its entirety.

Kicking game still needs work..... Kick offs, some went into the endzone.... some went to the 4...... Needs to be in the endzone each kick off!!!! Extrapoints, well lets just say that this will cost St.X a loss if this is not corrected, soon...... glad to see 2nd string kicker warming up at half and got the kick early in the second half. Yes it would be good for the majority of kickoffs to be in the endzone, however not all can go in the endzone, by that I mean 100% of the kickoffs for the season will not be touchbacks, human error. However everybody talks about didtance, what about hangtime, hangtime is just as important on kickoffs, more important on punts. I thought his kickoffs could use a little more hangtime. I'm sure things will work out. Great to see the tigers in great form.

You can't discount the advantage that X enjoyed because of having already played a game. What do they say - that the most a team improves is from the first game to the second? X's coaches evidently did a good job this past week. I expect LexCath's will follow suit this upcoming week.

I was gonna say that

I think until X loses, they should be #1. They have a unreal talent in Vic, and another great runner in Deuce. The OL is big and athletic. THIS could be x's finest offense ever. The D is strong. Strong enough to stop the run and defend the pass as evident tonight. I could see less than 8 TD's given up by the D all season. This may be the one Glaser goes out on...

That is strong praise considering how good their offense was last year.

Kat, where are the guys kicking at? Are they heading over to Manual, or has Coach Scott taken his film tower and transformed it into temporary uprights?

This St.X has more team speed than any Tiger team I have seen- and I have seen quite a few. The run defense was eXcellent. Most weapons on offense I have ever seen as well. This team has a lot of upside and could be very good in a few weeks if they keep working hard and stay focused.

Buddy,

There are no field goal posts at any practice location. The kickers have been force to kick into large trees that surround the different practice locations. The kickers kick into the trees (to not lose the footballs). The kickers have not been able to kick much because of the many different practice locations.

This may be the one Glaser goes out on...

Hush your mouth...:p
