SO! can anyone that was there tell me how any lex cath players did? any of them stand out? how did the o-line and d-line look?

YEAH! back on the thread. I think all fans involved would tell you that the result was a surprise, but I'll take it. (Not the outcome, just the score;) )Sorry! As the stats would show, the LC offense had some success with the passing game. The QB, though undersized, did a nice job. Some of his passes just kind of hung up there but the receivers did a nice job positioning themselves to make the catch. They used their size advantage nicely. I was impressed with the young tight end. Nice size for a soph? I think. Ran some nice underneath routes and made the catches. As for your O and D-lines, well, I think they were just overmatched on both sides of the ball. As 36 yards rushing would tell you, the X D-line pretty well dominated. They also had several sacks. This X D-line pursues extremely well for this early in the season. They are quicker than last year as well. Your O-line didn't fare so well either. The X line did a nice job of creating a gap for Vic and on that night that is all he needed. LexCath is definitely better than the score indicates. With time I think they will be in the hunt come playoff time.

Is Jack Hilt starting for X? If so how did he do?

I thought that Caldwell showed that he is one of the top receivers in the state. The X defensive backs commented that his hands were twice the size of the D-backs and could jump higher. He blew past them a couple of times but the QB didn't have enough time to get off the longer routes. I would throw the slant to Caldwell early and then throw it deep as the D made adjustments.

The safety( Revere?) showed his speed on the long Passafiume pass. He ran Daniel down from behind. The defensive alignment switched with strong side and weak side but they were late recognizing it and were just getting into postion when X snapped the ball. Many times I saw the Lex Catholic defenders scrambling to get into postion late. I would recommend just running a base defense until they get it down.

TE made a number of good routes and catches across the middle. He is definately a target.

If not starting, he is playing a lot. He had a number of tackles and I think one sack.

The TE u speak of is #88 Daniel Vogalsang, he is a sophmore this year and he has tremendous talent. Watch out for him in the future.

It looks like I've finally achieved star status. Your venom for me is almost as strong as that for Victor Anderson and DJ Hall. Time for a cold shower. :D

No venom my man, read the intro to the post. I just wanted to point out that both schools have their...zealous fans. I know that a number of X-men post things that get under my skin, but hey, if it aint a violation I try to dispute it or ignore it. I don't advise them not to post, its a free world (for the low, low fee of $15.00).

You are way off base on DJ Hall. I was just wondering if he was hurt. He was a star on the freshman team and I didn't see him play much in a blowout win. Thanks to another less paranoid X fan I now know that he is still nursing an injury.

No need for the shower but thanks, I just showered at the Manual/Trinity JV game.:thumb:

How big is he? He look to be about 6"3> Good hands from what I saw.

And this has what to do with Lexington Catholic and X?

I hope everyone stays on the thread subject. I think most of us want to discuss whatever is mentioned at the top of every thread.

I wonder what the Lexington Catholic( Knights DAD) faithful feel after game 1 of the new coaching regime?

Ox you manage that a long time ago. In fact your star became so great its gravity caused it to collapse on itself and create a black hole.

Need to be careful with that next time ol' buddy. :D :D

Are we teaching astronomy now lil' buddy, or doing a weightwatchers commercial.

I may seek the role of Galactus in the next Fantastic Four release. Do want to be Silver Surfer?

Nah, that's just a little TOO weird even for me. :creepy:

I've already made a couple comments in the first page of this thread. I felt fairly good about the offensive production against the best defense we will see all year. I was surprised at how poorly our defense tackled. Vic is a great runner who uses his blockers well but there were several times that he just shook off tacklers when I thought he would be brought down. Of course, worse than this were the times when no one seemed to touch him all the way to the endzone. Did he score a Td every time he touched the ball? It seemed like it to me. The defensive let down surprised me because our head coach was last year's defensive coordinator, and that defense improved every game. Maybe we'll have a repeat. We have a couple weeks to regroup before our next game against Scott County and I expect we will be significantly better than.

Another thread ruined by the folks that think X and T are the only two programs in the state! Why don't you just start a X/T spitting contest thread that way you don't jack all other threads the rest of the year. This isn't for any one person just the ones that constantly ruin threads when they aren't even about their team.

Don't include all T/X fans in this statement..thanks!

Taken care of brother.

WOW! I guess last year it was so close cause of Mr. Burke. But what can I say? I'm just another hillbilly from SE Kentucky. (And proud to be one!)
