Whats your point? Do you really think any voters around the state will give points based on what a player "could of" done? Vic jumped back in the race for Mr. Football with this effort, but Beaumont matched him.

While I think that Beaumont is the best player in the state right now I dont think he matched Vics performance last night. Vic only touched the ball 6 times and had 4 TDs.

I think both had outstanding offensive games. That being said, as far as Mr.Football goes Beaumont performed in front of fans (and maybe a few votes) that may never see Vic. He also played defense. Those facts coupled with Beaumont's edge kast week, has me thinking he is in the lead at this point. These two will go head to head (probably twice) this year and that might tell the story.

When Vic has open field, it's over. And he has the best balance I've ever seen on the HS level, period. Some of his runs tonight, while aided by excellent blocking and less-than stellar tackling, were simply amazing.

What about shaun Alexander?? He was the same way in HS... I attended a gm his senior year when they played Campbell Co. and he put up similar #'s as I recall.

I believe #13 did miss his first, I could be wrong. But even if he did miss it, that would be alright with me, this kid is a freshman, and by the looks of the PAT that he did make, he has some real potential for having only played high school football for several months. Im not sure what Glasers plans are, but Id say that its a safe bet that he'll dress Fern Creek.

Wow, you win 47 - 0 and still find a way to yell at the coaches. I thought Trinity fans were bad. :thumb:

Never underestimate the fickleness of Catholic fans. During the past two or three years I have several times heard X fans criticize Glaser in the stands, despite X being ahead in the game and having lost only one regular season game to an in-state opponent in the last three years. I can also recall attending Trinity games during the 50 win streak and hearing fans criticize Lampley. (He didn't pass enough! Same criticism of Glaser).:D

Guys ease up.... I'm pointing to the fact that these small observations could potentially cost a game.... There are some games one does not want to loose.... Would think that these would not normally be a problem, because we have had a strong kicking game and play calling (speed ) has not been a problem of the past. Yes, the second string kicker made the extra point after the 2 play drive to open the second half.

Thanks for the clairification on the lack of goal posts for St. X practices (due to construction).... That explains a lot....

Below is a post found on another message board. I enjoyed it so, I thought I would share it.

Re: Vic Anderson...WOW! ------

I went to the St X game last night, and this kid is for real. Everytime he touches the ball, the crowd jumps to its feet. I've never really seen anything like that out of a HS kid. There's really no build-up to get to full speed... he gets hit, loses his stride, and is back at full speed in 2 steps. He was VERY impressive, far "out-athleticisizing" (if I may) every player on the field with a variety of spin moves, jukes, stiff arms, etc, and his speed is outstanding... Being a St X alum, I usually try to make it to the Trinity game plus one other one at Manual Stadium, but (now) I plan on going to every St X game that I'll be in town for this year.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to say he's the next Reggie Bush (LexCath's defense was admittedly very weak), but he has a similar running style and that same ability to electrify the crowd every single time he touches the ball. If you get a chance to see him, you should take advantage of it and go.

Finch (the "other RB") got a couple touches last night, and he looked great too, but I wouldn't say he's better than VA. Not a stretch to say he may be better than VA was at a similar stage, but man for man, he's not as good... yet.

I can remember just a few short weeks ago someone in the rock club said that they thought there would be a QB controversy at St. X this year between Wade and Zoller.....!! Well, after Friday night and last night, looks as if the controversy will be at trinity.... Petrino three INT's......against MBA. This kid was the mvp of the 4a state game last year. Threw three INT's all of last year.... Not to good a showing for a mr. football candidate.

Thanks for mentioning Petrino and the 4A State Champions Trinity Rocks in this thread. Every time I think of the way Petrino made x's lineman look in the game, it brings a smile to my face. :jump:

Just keep on saying "Last Game" and everything will be ok. :flame:

Well...I saw him play as a freshman and as a JV and wrote him off each time. I saw him last September against X and wrote him off. But in December he was a world beater. I would not write him off just yet.

Put Vic Anderson in The JUNGLE in a few weeks and I don't even want to think about what could happen in that game vs. Highlands..... wow..

He sure had the answer for "The Best Team In Ky." ( per glazer and the st.x supporters) in the State Championship Game last year!!:dancingpa

Now back to the Thread.;)

It feels really good to know St. X is 2 -0. It feels even better to know the rocks are 0 - 1........ Just breath deep, everything will be OK....

We will keep him in the hunt for the Mr. Football award. Everyone can have a bad game now and then. He's got some ground to catch up considering Beaumont and Anderson performances this past weekend. I'm sure he is up to the task. Looking forward to seeing him take over a game as a Mr. Football candidate should....
