So they go on and win ky 3a. That doesn't mean they were any good. By my standards they were bad.

Vic was a freak tonight!

Last week after the BG game Vic 'apologized' to some of us and told us to watch this week. That he would make up for it and put on a show. Did he ever!! Although the O-line played sooo much better than last week, many(most) of Vics yards came after contact -- Some amazing runs. Truely fun to watch.

As stated by someone  in another thread it was stated that X would control the line of scrimmage and win the game. This happened on both sides of the ball. The defense did not get much credit pre-season but they are showing the ability to stuff the run quite well. 20 yards given up before the heavy substitutions. Not bad. This game did show that the X secondary still needs some work but in all fairness, this is the first game they have had many balls thrown at them. now the coaches and players know what needs to be worked on.

Overall, a very solid game for the Tigers.

Wow...I thought Lex Cath would have trouble scoring, but I didn't think their defense would be so weak. Maybe X's offensive line is even better this year than the much hyped group in 2005?

As some of us have noted on here earlier, the OL has a good shot of being better this year. Taking their sloppy performance against Bowling Green last week to heart, the Tigers had an outstanding week of practice and the results showed on the field.

As others have already mentioned, Vic Anderson's performance was nothing short of AMAZING tonight. But as great as his performance was, I was most satisfied with the Tiger defense. There was a lot of popping heard throughout the stadium, which resulted in achieving a well-deserved goose egg against the potent Knight' speedy offense.

It was a night to remember for both the players and coaching staff........GO TIGERS!! :thumb:

Those are ridiculous numbers -- what a night for the Mr. Football favorite.

Not a knock on Vic but just less than a week ago, people talked about how Beaumont was the frontrunner for Mr. Football. Last I heard tonight, Beaumont had 4-5 TD's running and catching the pill in their win over Hoptown.

Vic could of scored 10 TD'S.

Knightsdad,

You're right on all accounts. Over the last few years, both X and LexCath have used this game to benefit them later in the year. For the past 2 years, X has benefitted by defending against Justin Burke's passing attack, in preparation for Trinity's similar offense, which they will see a few weeks later. When in Louisville, LexCath benefits by going through through the mental, physical, and logistical process of travelling to Louisville for a road game (which they hope to repeat in December) and playing a big, disciplined, hard-nosed team. By exposing LexCath's weaknesses, last night's game will only make LexCath better. I certainly wouldn't count them out in December. After all, it's still August.

Whats your point? Do you really think any voters around the state will give points based on what a player "could of" done? Vic jumped back in the race for Mr. Football with this effort, but Beaumont matched him.

When Vic has open field, it's over. And he has the best balance I've ever seen on the HS level, period. Some of his runs tonight, while aided by excellent blocking and less-than stellar tackling, were simply amazing.

He's very similar to Tendai, but I take Tendai at this point.

Great to see a solid game by the Tigers. Need to follow this up with an improved secondary against FC. Kicking game still needs work..... Kick offs, some went into the endzone.... some went to the 4...... Needs to be in the endzone each kick off!!!! Extrapoints, well lets just say that this will cost St.X a loss if this is not corrected, soon...... glad to see 2nd string kicker warming up at half and got the kick early in the second half. I would like to see him in there next week..... Overalll an excellent game, just need to improve this week and be ready for the Fern Creek Tigers!!!
