I worked with my wife's brother. Didn't know he had a sister until I went to his house to help him work on his car. She was dating older guys at the time and her brother told me I had "no shot" (even though I was 2 years older than her). First date I took her to dinner at the revolving restaurant Quality Inn Riverview as it was known then. Had one of those horsehoe shaped booths facing the window. We went to a movie after dinner where she fell asleep. At that point I figured the date wasn't going too well and remembered it was Irish night at Mick Noll's Covington Haus. We had a blast there and the rest is history. Been married for 38 years so far.

Early freshman year at Morehead. I was going out with some girl from Lilly Chapel, Ohio. This girl from Maysville was her roommate; she kept hanging around. Soon Lilly Chapel was out of the picture.

College. Had a couple of classes with her, and was finally introduced to her by my good friend/teammate/current Cardinals hitting coach John Mabrey who at the time was dating her friend.

High school party. She had no interest in me so I became friends with her friends. Next month will mark 20 years together, and will be married for 12 later this year.

Was shooting on a dart team with her sister. Was going to ask the sister out, then I saw her.

Her best friend set us up. Coincidentally her grandmother was my very first customer, cut her grass for 25 years.

At Thomas More. She was the hot librarian with glasses. We were set up on a lie. Our mutual friend told us that we each wanted to meet the other. None that was true since we had never seen each other before.

College
