She came into the Driftwood Lounge at Bellewood Bowling Lanes in Bellevue with a friend's girlfriend . We celebrated our 42nd Anniversary this year . I say to anyone that asks that I picked her up in a bar

Clubbed over the head and drug back to her cave....been a misty haze ever since...I've been waiting for this thread, please send SWAT

Had met a B-E-A...utiful British girl and we were going to meet at a club in Clifton after she got off work.

 

A buddy of mine had started dating a UC womens soccer player and she wanted to dance and drink beer. So I three wheeled with them to a local bar she could get in since she was underage until I meet up with the british bombshell.

 

So I get talked into dancing with my buddys girlfriend and in comes a swarm of NKY girls. A long haired blonde asked me for a light, we danced, and I end up talking with her by candle light until 5a at an after hours party once the bar closed :banana:. That was about 25 years ago and we've been living in marital bliss for 20 of those years...:lol2:

 

She was to have gone on a date that night and got stood up. Her girlfriends drug her out. And I have no regrets not meeting up with the brit. Funny how things work out sometimes! :thumb:

First time we saw each other was at Pleasure Island pool. Second time we met was in Devou Park. Really did not want to date anyone at that time, and here we are getting ready to celebrate 41 years together (2 years dating and 39 years of marriage Labor Day weekend) - I wouldn't trade them for the world

Saw him in the hallway between classes my Freshman year in high school. He was a Junior. I was a quiet student. Anyway, my sister married his first cousin and their wedding was our first date. Later on, I found out he had a crush on me after seeing me cheerleading at a ball game. And I had no clue. Anyway we got married the first Saturday after I graduated from high school. And it's been best friends ever since. Been together 52 years and married 48 years, on June 1, 1968.

Saw him in the hallway between classes my Freshman year in high school. He was a Junior. I was a quiet student. Anyway, my sister married his first cousin and their wedding was our first date. Later on, I found out he had a crush on me after seeing me cheerleading at a ball game. And I had no clue. Anyway we got married the first Saturday after I graduated from high school. And it's been best friends ever since. Been together 52 years and married 48 years, on June 1, 1968.

 

I also married my high school sweetheart. Our older sisters were best friends. We all went to Beechwood, so I knew him, but not well.

 

When I was in the 8th grade (spring 72), we were on a school trip to Kings Island. I was in line to ride the twin roller coasters with friends, when he came up behind me, pulled my pig tails (yes corny), and said "Are you going to be my girl?" I laughed and yes and went on with my friends.

 

Didn't see him again til fall after school started.

Back in the early 70's Marydale had a big festival and all the local high school kids went. I was only 14 and not allowed to go. My younger sister, also not allowed to go, saw my future hubby in the hallway at school and asked him to win her a stuffed animal.

 

That night I was sitting in the kitchen, watching an old black and white TV in my old ratty bathrobe and big curlers. My sister came home, looked at me and said that he was coming in the house. I said "So what? He has sisters." And went back to my show. He came in the door with a HUGE Snoopy stuffed animal for my little sister. A few weeks later he asked me to homecoming, and that was it. We dated the next 7 years, and have been married for 37.

 

Ironically, in all the years we dated, every time we would go to Kings Island or any festival, I would ask him to win me a stuffed animal. He once won me a plastic pirates knife from from the fish pond.
