You were pretty positive last Friday also , weren't you?

I think that Coach Haywood will have his offense working a little smoother this week at practice and we will see some more of Corey running the ball against Ashland. Belfry's D looked very nice against NCC. If the offense can pick up their game then Belfry should come home with another "w" this week.

Belfry 24

Ashland 7

At the top of what?

I second this notion..:thumb:

I hope Thomas has 150 yds and the Cats win, just don't see it. Too many things to fix in a weeks time against a solid opponent, like who's the best option at QB?, O-line, who'll replace Bonner, etc.. I'll bet that T Cat 72 is correct in saying that Leon will have them rolling at the right time, I think they are vulnerable now though!

Belfry 20

Ashland 14

This will actually be my first trip to Ashland's football field, and even though I have never been there, we all know that it is just like Belfry playing at Belfry. You had better have your "A" game on if your going to walk away with a win. Being a life long Pirate fan, and after watching our smothering D beat a good NCC team on Friday, if our offense picks up the slack this Friday night and plays half as well as the defense does then the "angry red" will roll out of Ashland 2-0. Good luck to both team and GO BIG RED beat the Tomcats.

Belfry: 34

Ashland: 14

P.S. Could someone give me directions to the field? I will be coming from Huntington. Thanks! :thumb:

Take I-64 W and take the Catlettsburg exit to US -23. Turn right onto 23 off the exit. Go approx. 3 miles and turn left on 168. Take 168 all the way to Blackburn Ave. Turn left onto Blackburn Ave, until you come to a traffic light. Take a left at the traffic light. Go three blocks and turn right onto Elm St. Welcome to Putnam Stadium.

I feel Belfry's D will pull another "W" out of the hat with a low scoring game.

Belfry-14

Ashland-7

Good luck to both fine programs. Hope they both have a great year.

I have to agree with this assessment. However, I’ll be holding onto the hope that anything is possible on a given night and that sometimes the underdog wins – that is why we play the games instead of settling it all on paper.

Belfry by a blowout.

If Ashland can neutralize Belfry running they will have a great shot. I have been told Belfry has zero passing game.

 When has Belfry had a passing game? Belfry lines up and plays smashmouth football, they may throw a pass in every now and then, but Belfry is very content in thier running game and it is pretty effective. Don't be mistaken the Pirate offense was a little rusty this past friday but by no means was it completely dormant. NCC had a very good size line but Belfry still had a decent offensive game. Belfry has a very nice backfield imo and they are only going to get better.

With the power and option attack that Belfry runs they haven't needed a passing game. :D
