Now I want to watch Diving just to see what the pool looks like. Part of me feels like something stupid is going to happen with the pool.

There it is. The "it's safe/not safe" conundrum.

Loved the side by side shot of swimming pool clear and diving pool green.

So I was reading some more about this and it reading several stories saying the pool looked murky before this. Also read a story that the Australian coach pulled his swimmers out of the warm-up pool because it was cloudy. If the diving pool turned green because of algae someone really screwed up. One article said the PH level was 9.0 and was a sign of under chlorination. If also true, I go back to my previous statement that the amount of chlorine you would have to add to fix this would render the pool unsafe to be in for at least a day or 2.

I'm with you. I feel pretty strongly that the pool is unsafe either way it goes and that they are doing their best to save face even if it means risking the health of the divers.

If it's green from algae it's fine. 900,000 gallons of water from Lake Cumberland in that pool probably doesn't look any different.

If its some chemical reaction then I don't know.

What gets me is how this can happen. It literally takes 1 minute to test chlorine levels in a pool. Either it needs chlorine or it doesn't. I don't know if they are trying to run these pools at basically no chlorine to save money or what but it just boggles my mind.

Social media letting Gabby have it over her either being a bad team player or unpatriotic...

Social media is overrun with losers and attention seekers.

You can say that again.

Not a soccer expert by any means but did Hope Solo blow those 2 goals vs. Colombia? The first one went through he legs at a moderate pace. The second one was a heck of a shot that bent in off a penalty. My question there is did she jump too soon? Should she have moved more to her right before she jumped? To her credit, she did "man up" and give an interview after the match.

Mike Krzyzewski sounds-off on French reporter at Olympics - NY Daily News

Mike Krzyzewski sounds-off on French reporter who asked once again about USA men’s basketball team living on a boat — ‘I actually live in Durham, N.C., and have a swimming pool’

Mike Krzyzewski is getting sea sick.

Coach K gave a long-winded answer to France's Le Monde who asked him again about Team USA “living on a boat”

The News Observer reports that Krzyzewski went on about his own personal wealth and how the team doesn’t technically live on the boat.

“Well, we don’t live on a boat, we’re staying on a boat,” Krzyzewski said. “I actually live in Durham, N.C., and have a swimming pool. Once in a while I get on a raft and lie in there. I’ve never really thought about living on a boat.”

Both the men and women’s basketball teams are staying aboard The Silver Cloud, a 196-cabin luxury ship, for this year’s Olympic games — a possible result of issues with the housing in Olympic Village.

“Since 1992, the U.S. teams have stayed in different locations because of the accommodations. It’s not our boat. We’re not the only people on the boat. We say good morning to them, hello. We actually make friends on the boat. I never knew I would have boat friends. Now that I’m talking about it, I might go and buy a boat and put it in… I’d need a bigger swimming pool,” Coach K added.

Towards the end of his answer, Coach K started complementing Rio and made it known how good people have treated him and the team.

“Nah, it’s a place to stay. We’re here to play basketball. And the people of Rio have been unbelievable in terms of their hospitality. We’re fortunate to be here, whether we’re on a boat or not,” Krzyzewski said.

After Krzyzewski’s response, Team USA member Jimmy Butler didn’t have much to add other than the fact that he listens to directions.

“I just do what I’m told. I’m told to sleep on a boat, so I sleep on a boat,” Butler said. :lol2:

Simone Biles has a legit chance at winning 5 gold medals in Rio.

Has that ever happened in gymnastics before?

Men's rugby on now. This is an awesome sport! Wish I knew all the rules! USA vs. Fiji.

I wish it was televised more. I played club league in college.

Not five gold. Four gold has been done a couple times, per Wikipedia. And both the women that won four gold in one Olympics won six total medals in those games.
