Bracken County cancels all away sporting events with Augusta and St. Patrick

Featured Replies

I don't think Augusta realizes how big of a hit the are taking by not playing Bracken County at home. Augusta's gym holds 500, charging $3-$5 a ticket making about that's around $2,000. Not to mention how much money was made at halftime by Perry Poe's cake auction. Bracken County will survive without Augusta. With money the 15% stake they had in hosting region and district. Not mention the money they make at the gate from other sports. A Shoot For A Cure game against Mason, Pendleton, Campbell etc. would still draw a big crowd. And it doesn't look like George Clooney is giving back to them any time soon.

I was just about to comment - where is George to help his hometown out? He can shell out $350,000 a plate for a Hillary fundraiser but he can't show a little love to the place where his family still lives?

I still love him though; he's my modern day Cary Grant! (You're still on my list, GC!)

Although all those events are great money makers and fundraisers I don't think Oh mighty bracken county not coming to a Augusta or them not going to wonderful brooksville will end Augusta's future or year. And I agree George should probably give back a little, but they've made it this far without him im sure they will be just fine with out him or bracken

stir that pot, cameraman!! LOL

Stupid autocorrect. CAMELMAN.

I have no connection to Augusta, but have enough confidence in them to let them decide for themselves what is in their best interest.

When will the draw for the district tournament be held? I would love to be there for the drawing.

I don't, but Gary Google does.

It appears that whining and crying comes in many forms.

Augusta's athletic director Robin Kel... I mean Rebeca Arnold said they are are big on tradition, and won't seed because the 39th has always drawn. But traditionally doesn't Bracken County play Augusta twice a year? Sort of contradicting his argument there.

True statement, I saw it happen on more than one occasion.
