I guess the "Mojo Hand" didn't work South of the AA so home plate is back in it's rightful place.

Augusta is a combined 0-40 on runs their last two games.

Sounds like they just ran out of innings.

Thirteen pages on this :roll eyes: Petition the state to mandate seeding. In Track & Field there is a petition going around to change the one day state championships back to the old format of two day state championships. Instead of one school crying foul against their smaller rival, petition the state to get seeding mandated state wide because the current actions being taken aren't going to change a thing.

So it's ok for clearly inferior teams to get to the region by fortunate seeding, but for the better team who draws the bad pill, it's tough luck....get better and win.

There is NO good argument for a random draw. None, zero, zip.

How is any team getting "fortunate seeding" if they win their district games? At that point it's an "earned seeding," and they have proven themselves not to be inferior to their district rivals.

Augusta's argument that they need the money financially can be disputed. In the 37th, Calvary and Silver Grove seem to be doing just fine and have to beat 3 regional powers if they want money from region. They find a way to make money. Sounds like Augusta just wants their welfare check

In a blind draw you don't have to win your district games. Heck, you don't have to win any games when a blind draw sets the schedule in the district tourney. No way should the 3/4 team get to play each other in the first round of a four team playoff.

How do you Augusta faithfully defend them being out scored 40-0 in their last 2 games? Or the fact after beating St Pat they received a police escort. Or the fact they bragged to Bracken County players/fans that they were going to region. Or the fact they gave their coach a Gatorade shower after losing to Mason County in the district finals? Or the fact they had exactly 9 players Monday?

Why is this on the basketball thread? Can someone please redirect the baseball comments to the baseball thread please?

You are changing the subject, that's ok I understand why, because there is no answer. This an issue with all sports, this thread should really be in contravesal issues.

This issue is with all sports. I decided to put it under Boys Basketball because I thought it would retain the most viewership. And let's be honest nobody in Augusta (including you and adminstation) never cared for Augusta baseball before this. It's always been about boys basketball.

I haven't seen a bigger bandwagon in the past week than I have for Augusta baseball and it only lasted several hours, if that. I have not once seen any support from the Augusta faithful for their baseball team. No mentions at all on Twitter until they beat St. Pat's. They were more worried about rubbing it in Bracken County's faces than anything else. Once that "Oh we clinched a regional spot" high wore off, I heard nothing but crickets. There was zero support after that. I did not see one person wish them good luck against Mason County in district finals and in their game against Campbell County. Someone has to step in and change this seeding crap across the board. Having a 1 win team make a regional via blind draw is shameful. If as a 3 or 4 seed, they beat the 1-2 seed, I would understand it slightly better. It just looks bad on the district.

One thing you left out: Bracken County forgot to take care of business in its district game against Mason County.

Beating a Division pitcher is tough. Beating him 2 years in a row is even tougher! And for those saying Bracken County shouldn't go to region because of their (12-18) record. Here's some of the teams they lost to: Strength of schedule matters

2x Lewis County- Region

Harrison County- District Champion, Region Semi-Finals (22-12)

Bishop Brossart- Class A Champion, (16-16)

Nicholas County- Region

Rowan County- District Champion, Region Semi-Finals (26-11)

Bourbon County- Lost in tough district, (14-13)

3x Mason County- District Champion, 2 D1 pitchers (15-10)

2x Fleming County- Region

Logan, WV- Ranked 17th in West Virginia (11-7)

Pikeville- District Champion, Region Semi-Finals (24-12)

Paintsville- Lost in a tough district (19-16)

Campbell County- District Champion, Region Semi Finals (still playing)

Bracken County had 7 one-run losses.

This season will be the 1st time in recorded school history (1934) that Bracken County and Augusta will not play in the regular season.
