This notion that you have to beat the best to be the best, of course is true.

 

So, we could say that the Bengals would have to beat the best to be the best. But first they would have had to earn the opportunity to do so, which they failed to do. Had they qualified, they would have still been at the mercy of their record, in relation to the other teams in their division. Ridiculous notion, evidently.

Analogy could also apply to Golden State Warriors, Cavaliers, etc. Whether a team is at the top beginning post season or on the outside looking in, their respective position was based on their regular season performance.

We can talk about this till we're blue in the face (see what I did there). Until the Association mandates Commonwealth-wide seeding (or determines that a 2-2 vote each year results in alternate seed/draw years), the 39th district ain't gonna change. The little bitty schools are going to vote in their best interests. Many don't like it.

 

Bracken did what they thought was best with the "not scheduling at home" thing. Many don't like it. Maybe their efforts should have been directed toward the Association; or maybe they've tried and failed. I'm not in a position to know.

I'm saying I graduated in 1998 and seeding while not as talked about as these days was talked about. And in the late 90s there were many more districts that had a draw. But guess what they all came along with the times.

 

 

My son graduated from Mason County in 1998.

 

St. Patrick and Bracken County beat them that year.

Nope I believe Augusta has proved they can win and are not scared of drawing the dreaded Mason co pill

I believe that was the last time Bracken County beat Mason County. The last time St. Patrick beat Mason County was in 2000. Saints won the district that year. St. Pat had really good team. A buzzer beater from making the region final against the Royals who lost on a buzzer beater in the final.

Augusta has not made it passed the first round of district in any sport for two whole sports seasons. No region in two years, draw is working well for them
