yep. Tiebreaker gave the #1 seed to Nicholas, #2 to Bracken, and #3 to Brossart

My guess? The giant "seed the district" banner at the volleyball tournament made them a little salty. I was surprised the game was scheduled in the first place.

They ripped off the RICT so what was left hanging was SEED THE DIST. The whole sign was saved thanks to the courageous students of BC and a few Mason County volleyball players.

Had not read thru this thread until today when I read it all after your directive.The Mason Co./St. Patrick game meant a lot as a tradition as Mason Co. had not played at St. Patrick's gym for so long. More so to the St. Patrick team and student body, fans and parents and grandparents. It was a fun day for these young people. Saints take pride in their school and teams, and are glad when a team agrees to schedule a game in the Saints' gym. No reason to belittle them, they work just as hard, practice just as much and some of these players spend their own money to pay for special camp like a point guard camp. Why would I expect it to mean anything to you? Why would I care? We already know how you feel about that other school in Maysville. Dismissing these young people so cavalierly was not necessary.

I cannot conceive of any current athlete, or former athlete ever making a dismissive comment like that. Sounds more like an adminisrative desk jockey's attempt to justify a bullying decision. Ask anybody playing streetball if the game they're playing means anything. I would suggest you could be surprised just how important it is to those competing.

Good for Mason Co traveling to St Pat to play a game that they won handily. Haven't done it in 50+ years. Probably won't do it again for a long time. It's the people on here making a big deal of it all. Kids play the games on the schedule and are not worried about teams that are not on the schedule. At least that's what I'm getting from the players I've talked too.

I know we've had this conversation multiple times and my stance will not change. Sure the Augusta/Bracken game meant something, but only bragging rights. But imagine how much more that game would've meant if it was seeded.

You must have lost logic somewhere. None of those teams are in the same district, are they?

This all is so intriguing.

Most everyone seems to agree that the right way for districts to be setup is to seed. Yet, when a couple schools chooses to vote against what most think are right, it's ok, because it's in their best interest.

Then there's the thought, again by most, that agree the KHSAA should step in and mandate seeding. Of course that hasn't happened either. Now, back to the vote, which seems to be the biggest absurdity in all of this. A continued tie vote just results in simply leaving it the same. At least if the KHSAA is not going to step in and mandate seeding, they at least should deal with a tied vote.

So after all of this, one of the other schools involved chooses to put forth a formal, peaceful means of protesting/boycotting these decisions or lack thereof, and they are the bad guys.

When all but 5 districts seed it is time for every district to seed. If 20 or more went with a draw than this argument would carry little water. Seeding every district in the state creates an even playing field for everyone.
