To me, the definition of playing scared in the seed/draw controversy would be to vote draw.

I know very little about how cross country or track is setup.

Do the athletes times or how they place in events throughout the season have any bearing or qualify them for future events or their post season?

To me folks not crying about it are confident in there program, I don't think it has anything to do with being "scared" they may or may not like the blind draw but it is what it is, And 27 pages of this debate still has you guys drawing.

Why not in the first round? I would just as well see a match up in the first round of two good teams fighting it out for a place in the regional tourney.

I'm sure you enjoyed sitting through the girls Mason/St Pat barn barn burner finals last year. Or the St Pat/GRC barn burner in the next round. The Lady Bears could have beaten a couple teams in the region. St Pat shouldn't have even shown up because Bailey Cummins could have beat them by herself. She earned that Region spot.

You make my argument...BC "could have beaten a couple teams..." but didn't beat who they needed to in order to get to the Region.

 

Your "quality of game" argument holds no water. High school teams do not play each other solely for the purpose of you being able to see a "good game".

 

If BC had beaten who they needed to, irrespective of Bailey Cummins individual efforts, they would have been able to see if they could have beaten "a couple teams in the region".

 

Flawed logic: BC should have been able to get to the region, not to win it, but see if they could have beaten a couple teams. Does not sound like beating the best to be the best...sounds like backing in to potentially beat a lesser team.

Track yes. XC no.

I am just not in a rush to take the only advantage these schools who have the draw taken away from them. They are already behind the 8 ball when it comes to enrollment, resources, etc. They usually still only have a one in three chance to get the matchup they want and then they still have to go out and win the game. They already only get the crumbs, let them at least have the crumbs. I totally understand the other side of the argument, but you already have the other 99% of the advantages, at least let the other 1% have a leg off the turkey since you have the rest of the bird plus all of the trimmings and desserts.

If an upset occurs then so be it. But at least put the teams in order (1-4) by their district records 1vs4 2vs3 and see how it all plays out. I agree to be the best you gotta be the best. But you can take all that bs of the draw bing a good thing down the damn road. If the girls district had been seeded and Mason and Bracken had made it to the region like they should have been maybe BC is a school pulling those upsets. But no we got St Pat and had to sit through that epic blowout. Just a flawed system having a draw and anyone whom supports it doesn't care about the overall betterment of the game and regional tournaments. Sorry if the truth "urinates" some off but it is what it is

Question for all the Bracken County fans in favor of seeding. Why did you all never push for or vote to seed when you were in a district with Brossart, Campbell, Pendleton, and Silver Grove? Would it be that you traditionally would have been in the 4/5 game? If that district still existed would you be crying for the seed?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't recall the Polar Bear folks crying foul when Mason County was not interested in seeding the district because they were more interested and rightfully so in playing a state contender level schedule. Now that the Royals are not perennial state contenders and are regional contenders they decided it it is in their best interest to seed. Only now that Mason County is on board have the Polar Bear folks come out of woodwork crying wolf.

Yes, because Bracken has beat Brossart and Campbell already. And I'm sure they will beat Silver Grove and Pendleton. That's a #1 seed. Last year they would have been a #2 seed. So there's a hole in that theory.

Not forbidden. I just don't see the Patties coming in hot and making rain on Mason County at the Fieldhouse in the first round. Boys and ecspeccially girls.
