Played 18 each day this weekend! Perfect weather finally. After playing with gloves, under armor, and a knit hat the last few weekends, was in shorts this weekend! Played Legendary Run both days...great track on east side of Cincy. Course in very good shape although greens were rolling slower than usual. Front nine yesterday was a train wreck - 44 with a double and a triple but rebounded with a 39 on the back. Shot much better today 37-39-76. Great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone tried out any of the mini drivers ? It's basically a 12 degree driver with a shorter shaft.

They have intrigued me, seen them on Rock Bottom Golf...and they are usually cheaper than the drivers...but no haven't used one. I actually just bought a 14 deg Taylor Made SLDR S driver off of Rock Bottom Golf Friday, will be here tomorrow. I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake getting a driver with that high a loft, but I have been wanting to get one of those, the price was right and it was the lowest deg SLDR-S driver they had left in stock. Tried one in Orlando last year when playing with some rental clubs and I hit it much better than my Adams Speedline tech, but I think it was a 12 deg, not a 14. Just felt more solid than my Adams. Anyway, can't be much worse than I am currently hitting my driver, EVERYONE is outdriving me distance wise. Finally hitting my irons a decent length now with new set I had built a month ago, increased my distance probably at least one iron length (if not more) per club, strike for strike over my old set. If I can find a driver I am comfortable with and can hit decently, my scores will go down, and go down quite a bit I believe. I'm just so bad off the tee box it's just really killing my game right now.

So I had a 7:20 tee time this morning at Stonelick Hills, a very nice course north and east of Cincy. The forecast was iffy but it looked like we could squeeze it in with the rain supposedly holding off until close til noon. 3 of our 4 decided to play. Did not rain a drop the entire 18. We got done at 11:20. We were sitting in the restaurant area (drinking mixed drinks) at 11:30 when it started raining...just barely made it...

So you ask, why were you sitting there that early drinking? Because I HAD A HOLE IN ONE ON #12 AND HAD TO BUY....WOOOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice! Congratulations!

Headed to Perry Park this afternoon for the annual golf outing with the guys. Been doing this for about 30 years. Tons of fun, golf is usually secondary. Just great comaraderie.

Played twice in league pay and have been awful. I have low expectations golf wise

Been playing a LOT the past several weeks, walking after work most every night that I can and playing on weekends, weather allowing. Men's league started Thursday nigth and I won the money, but with only 8 of us playing only won $7.00. Been hitting some good shots, continue to get more comfortable with my new irons and when I hit them well, the ball really flies. I'd say swing for swing I have picked up MORE than a club lengths distance per club over my old ones, maybe closer to 1 1/2 clubs. My new Taylormade SLDR driver I ordered on line came in Friday and got out Saturday and played with it. Still tinkering with he weight, it really does make a difference, will probably take a couple of rounds or a large bucket at the range to get used to it and get in broken in. Early indications seem to be I will lose it right less often, seems like I hit it straighter to more left. Old driver I had developed a 2 way miss, which isn't good at all. Not sure I am going to gain much distance though, which was more of what I was looking for, but again I have only been able to swing it a few times so lot's to be discovered still.

Played 9 this morning wearing my Legendary Run golf shirt. Typical 43 from the forward tees; trying to figure out where this draw came from and how to play for it.

Congrats on the hole in one!

I played at Stonelick about a month ago, the greens had been aerated and it was like putting on a plinko board. Other than that I thought the place was top notch. Were the greens in good shape for you?

How is Perry Park? I'm heading there Friday for the 1st time ever.

Congrats on the hole in one!

Tee to green, the course is really good IMO...and hard. 7,150 from the tips...I played from the next set up - approx. 6,800...greens have improved from when you played a lot...not perfect but fine. Give them another week and they should be really good.

Depends on the tees. If you play the back tees a pretty tough test. WE play the whites and it is not as tough by a long shot. They have huge greens, some sand, some water but pretty much a straight forward course. The greens were really slow today and the course was WET!

Pace of play is slow due to a lot of outings and groups. If you are going to be here for the four days that is't to big a problem. If you want to play a 4 hour round, probably not.

I think you will enjoy it.

Playing there Sunday at 7:15 Papa...

Thanks to the weather for making me go to page 3 to find this thread! :sour:

Played yesterday at Houston Oaks in a very fun event. It was a Big Cup 2 man scramble. The holes were twice as big as regulation size. Really gave a different perspective on the game.

We had a great time.

Played my 14th round of the year yesterday. Tracking my scores, noticed my average round was 3 shots better in Jan thru March, as compared to April & May. Go figure.

Have not played hardly any the past 2 weeks...out of town for two conferences and bad weather to boot. Played yesterday, walked 9 holes, didn't hit the ball all that badly but just couldn't get it in the hole for a good score. Shot 44 with 3 or 4 putts burning the edges but wouldn't fall. Hoping to play better today, finally got my driver and 3 wood regripped with proper sized (for me) jumbo grips. Have never had any driver in the past regripped with a jumbo grip...why I never did I'm not sure. Hopping it makes a positive difference for me.
